Apart from a couple of silly calls for the managers head I think the comments so far reflect the poorness of the performance. No more over the top than your own comments mate really.

We've ridden our luck in recent weeks and a lot on here were expecting this. Lot's of work still to be done.

Pickford clear MOM for me.

Vlasic for McCarthy....lookman off the bench ahead of bolasie...where was Holgate.

Very odd to me...

Indeed.

Koeman and Walsh provided the defective tools.

Sam has found a way to use them even less effectively, going by the last two abject displays.

Depressing times.

I am resigned to losing the next two league games, against United and Spurs......and that will probably see us drift uncomfortably close to the relegation zone again.
I wouldn't be totally shocked if we managed a couple of draws from those 2 games. But the manager needs to play a bit of pace up front (what little we have) so we an counter. I'd have Rooney in a midfield 3 with Siggy, Niasse and either Vlasic or Lookman starting with the other on the bench. We can't afford to use either of these games to give match fitness to players returning from injury. That's what the U23s are for.

Holgate rested which was fair enough with 2 games in 3 days. We missed him though and dare I say Williams. Rooney to start against Utd in midfield with Geye and the fresh legs of Beni. I'd play Niasse up top with Siggy and either Vlasic or Lookman behind, with the other on the bench.

It amazed me how we went down, he changed it and went more attacking and got the equaliser.

THEN we sat back with our golden point in hand and went back on the defensive. When we’d subbed our defensive players off.

He’s probably wondering why he lost too.

First time I’ve seen us live this season and was, as usual, optimistic before the game. Having watched that shower today though, I just don’t get some of the decisions. Schniederlin was abysmal. Distribution and his inability to track back with any pace was a huge concern. Our best player on the ball is Gylfi but sticking him wide left was totally ineffective. And finally, our two centre halves rarely won headers or got in front of their man to nick the ball for the entire game. So many players switch off with no real leadership. Can’t imagine having someone like Roy Keane allowing some of the players get away with the way they played today.

I wandered into the Match Thread and the Allardyce thread before finding a quieter place to post in here mate !

Totally agree that there's a lot of work to do, but we all knew that anyway, and that would be the same whoever was in charge, no-one could wave a magic wand over our squad at the moment and get them playing fluent football. Mind you, I think our first eleven would be massively improved by having three new faces in it, so, if we get them in the window ( or two and Barkley stays and finds some form after a long time off injured ), then things could look very different in a couple of months. Till then, we have to grin and bear it and hope to nick the odd result here and there.

Thanks for the match report.

Pickford played well, but I went for Niasse because he was the only player who seemed capable of making something happen.

We are so poor attacking. It doesn't look like we know how to do so consistently and successfully. It will take more than a single target man to change our overall fortunes up front.

What irks me is that whether they have been here six months or season upon season the vast majority of our squad looks disinterested, phoning in performances. It's unacceptable.

I'd just like to see players who actually want to play for us representing our club. We need some genuine talent too, we've spent an awful lot of money to remain average.
