What is it with managers and team selections cant any of them get it right
half the time, the fast players we have like lookman etc, its like none of the bosses want to play them, speed causes trouble and problems, plus why is it so much of the time other teams can seem to get from one end of the pitch in seconds and it takes us ages, unless we hit it long,so odd are we as a team

It'll be interesting to see the pass map for that.

Bolasie shouldn't be anywhere near the first team, he was abject to the extreme - possibly one of the worst Everton performances I've seen from an individual.
Mate. I agree that after so long out Bolasie should be building up his match fitness in the U23s. Vlasic and Lookman should be in the squad ahead of him at the moment certainly. But FFS don't blame that embarrassment on a 20 minute cameo from a guy whose been out injured for 12 months.

And can we please stop playing DCL. Unless we can replace everyone bar pickford, Sig, Gueye, by next season we will be a bottom half team locked in.

It's not DCL's fault he is being asked to lead our attack, he should never have been put in that position.

This year should of been a year that saw him coming on in games and learning his trade, its a good job he seems mentally strong, because this season would break many young strikers.

Indeed.

Koeman and Walsh provided the defective tools.

Sam has found a way to use them even less effectively, going by the last two abject displays.

Depressing times.

I am resigned to losing the next two league games, against United and Spurs......and that will probably see us drift uncomfortably close to the relegation zone again.

Today was bizarre. It wasn't a defensive performance, we set up for McCarthy and Gana to press up the pitch win the ball so we would be able to attack closer to their goal via lennon and DCL being supplied by Sigurdsson.

I feel if we would have attacked we would have lost anyway. We should have continued with the defensive system and played lookman, lennon and vlasic and tried to counter.

I think we will get something out of one of utd or spurs providing we set up defensively.

To be fair, Bolasie is a donkey even when fully fit.

Cant see how vlasic and lookman are both overlooked.

To be fair, Bolasie could make a miraculous recovery, score a hat trick in every game between now and the end of the season, and you will still call him a donkey:).

Eh up, we've lost a game and people are going massively over the top.

Despite having three defensive midfielders on the pitch ( well two really, Morgan doesn't seem to do much defending ), we didn't sit back anywhere near as much as we did against the Baggies. It looked like the plan was to press further up the pitch and try and pinch it off them.

Awful mistake from McCarthy for their first goal, and we were generally sloppy in possession, in dangerous places too, which is something we havn't done much under Allardyce, which he'll be livid about. Poor defending for their second too.

Cuco offering so little going forward on the left means teams can get back easily and nullify anything we might do on that side

We need a striker and a left back, but we also need someone to put their foot on the ball and /or drive with it through the middle, and the only two players we've got that are really capable of doing that are Rooney and Barkley. Rooney's still recovering from flu and Barkley's not available for obvious reasons.

I can see why Sam fancies signing N'Zonzi.

Pickford was probably our best player, but I gave Oumar MOTM for making something happen.
Apart from a couple of silly calls for the managers head I think the comments so far reflect the poorness of the performance. No more over the top than your own comments mate really.

We've ridden our luck in recent weeks and a lot on here were expecting this. Lot's of work still to be done.

Pickford clear MOM for me.
