Strangely, I met a Liverpool supporter this morning who actually believed what Thompson had said ... and this lad is actually very decent apart from being completely blind when it comes to Anything Liverpool.

Which is exacally what that vile rat Thompson intended. He knows full well that a sizable number of cultists will believe anything that vindicates them and villfies anyone else (particularly rivals). Even when presented with the evidence that Thompson's vile lie was meant to be a "joke" they will still claim that he was pressured into apologising, was only telling the truth and it's a disgrace how he was punished mearly for doing so.

This whole incident is actually quite sinister and shows the depths they as a club are willing to plummet in order to justify theselves and smeer others. Uefa care about the thousands of Norwegian viewers far more than their showpiece being disrupted. It’s the reason they got the easiest of fixtures possible up to this point and probably why the linesman shafted City in that first leg.

Of course Barca and Real have more viewers than fc victim so I do expect that Uefa will keep with their recent trend of trying for an el Classico final by splitting them in the semis. The one draw I don’t want is Bayern Liverpool, Bayern will underestimate them and Klopp and Liverpool will love the whole German reunion nonsense. Barca or Real with second leg away and is back either of them to neuter them at Anfield and stroll it second leg. As poor as City were, the tie should be 3-1 or 2-1 now and still in the balance. As usual they will never learn their lesson for prematurely celebrating but they’ve won nothing yet.

Their actions has brought a violent edge to all their remaining games in the competition. It will inevitably kickoff at some point at the Etihad. They’ve also given the signal to the scum bag elements of other teams supporters that they see themselves as some form of ultra group.

It will only end badly, this is exactly the hooliganism cycle that clubs have worked hard to stamp out from the 80s, except one who have encouraged it.
