Potentially I think he's our best player, we are going to rue it when he inevitably goes but like the Yak, Moyes's persistence with his favourites and stubbornness is going to cost us a good player.

So Moyes is responsible for his diabolical first touch and his slowness to react then ? Righto.

He was largely pants today. Lost count of the number of moves that broke down with him, the scuffed shot that I think went out for a throw that was probably our best opportunity all game. Rubbish. Only singling him out because the thread is about him, there were plenty as bad today. I like him, but it's never going to work for him here, time to move on.

I believe so yes.

The man's confidence is shattered, he looks a nervous wreck every time he goes on the pitch. Constantly be subbed, whilst the same old faces stay on the pitch despite under performing every week. he needs a run of games in his favourite position yet we all know he'll never be given it as Moyes stays loyal to his favourites, under performing players like Osman and Cahill who's gone a year as a striker without scoring.

Billy plays in the hole for a good Russia side whilst Andre Arshavin plays in a wide role to accommodate him, yet Moyes refuses to even look at him there in a match scenario, despite us crying out for creativity.

Moyes loves the hoof, physical battle and try to win the 2nd ball. Me personally I'd like to see the ball played through the middle and a footballer like Billy given the chance to play defence splitting balls and have a go if given the space. Even now with his total lack of confidence he consistently shows the ability to find good positions and deliver a good ball, whilst his ball striking can't be questioned.

It's the same with Rodwell, for in excess of 2 years it was pretty obvious he was wasted as a defensive midfielder passing side to side and that he should of been allowed to play a Gerrard esqu role where can drive forward with the ball at pace using his power to get in the box and commit players yet we're still to see him there due to Moyes's persistence with his favourites. Capello took one sub appearance to realize his best position and he started the next game in that role and took all the plaudits.

Rodwell was our best player last pre season in Australia, he should of been a 1st choice last year but Moyes still started the season against Blackburn with his favourites again and Rodwell wasted a year, he went backwards. It's only through Arteta's departure he's in now. When he eventually he leaves and signs for United, Ferguson will show us how good a player he is by getting the best out of him, unlike Moyes.

I could go on, the Yak was getting better and better each week at the start of last year culminating with a top class performance against the shite. He had a bad 1/2 at Blackpool and never got back in again. Saha done fuck all week in week out yet Moyes stuck by him in the end Yak was forced out as he'd never be 1st choice whilst Saha was fit regardless of what happened on the pitch.

Baines would of been sold for about 2 million if Lescott hadn't forced his move to City. Baines couldn't get a look in until Jags got injured and then Lescott went, otherwise we'd still have the Hibbert --- Yobo --- Jags --- Lescott back 4.

Painfully true post.
The club is absolutely rotten from top to bottom.

Great post, agree with everything, especially the yak point, as for favourites, I'm not osmans biggest fan, but I am cahills, but even I can see he isn't the same anymore. It's as if moyes has a bet on both of them to score, and he doesnt sub them off unless they do or they are injured

Bily needs a run of games, without being subbed.

Bilya did nothing wrong today.

Not his fault to whip in crosses against the tallest side in the prem and no one get in the end of them

Moyes still living in the past that cahill will get his head in anything. tut tut

A lot of good points there. But this is Bily's 3rd season here now, and he still doesn't look anywhere nearer capable of handing the power and pace of the EPL than the day he arrived. He's a luxury we can't afford.

To be honest mate I'm not knocking either Cahill or Osman, I know there strengths and again I blame Moyes for what's happening to them. Osman's a centre midfielder, I believe it's there or no where for him however we have better options there now so he shouldn't be a first choice starter for our team however he always will be under Moyes. Moyes will accommodate him out wide no matter how ****e he is there, he'll find a shirt for him.

Cahill's the modern day David Platt if not better, he's a goalscoring centre midfielder and a better player than he's given credit for but he's not a striker and playing him there is a waste. He gives it his best shot and battles hard but at the end of the day he's not a striker. I hate the myth he can't play in a 2 man centre midfield, it's doing him a dis-service as I believe he can and in a team set up to play positive attacking football that's where he'd be.

Reading all this you'd think I want Moyes out, I don't as I think he's done a great job to get us where we are, I just feel we're going backwards. I know the lack of funds don't help at all but that doesn't excuse the fact that the teams of the last 3 years which Moyes built have massively underperformed and I believe Moyes has got to take a lot of blame for this.

I wish he'd just let the shackles of, be a bit less stubborn and really set up to go out and have a go at someone.

Has he had a decent run of games without being subbed? Not really, when he played quite a lot, he also scored quite a lot and got the assists

Oh and has he been tested in the centre, like so many people think he should? No, not really

Even when Baines passed it to him from 10 yards away and he miscontrolled it out of play?

I've seen baines, Coleman and almost every everton player do that

Baines made a.mistake today, when he miscontrolled it and passed it to a stoke player in our own half, does that mean he is a bad player?
