BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?

Alex Nyarko.

cost alot of money and was tagged the new Viera. Looked superb in pre season, scoring a cheeky back heel v Man Cityand all looked great. Played very well in the opening couple of games and then Archie weilded a bat and he found God.

That moment at Arsenal when he walked off the pitch after being challenged over his commitment was one of the lowest points of following this club. Dark days sadly.
think you called it . though a close second was Vinny Samways who was fairly gash

Tommy Lawton, 'cos he just wasn't as good as Dixie.

Ok, only kidding.....got to be one of Van der Meyde, Samways, Nyarko, Bakayoko or per Kroldrup. Or all of them as the worst Everton five-a-side team of all time....

It'll always be Van Der Meyde for me.

Signing a Dutch winger from Inter Milan when they were boss, I thought he was going to be a massive player for us.

Although I loved watching him play, and he scored some incredible and important goals for us, a mix of injuries, attitude and Moyes' square pegs meant we didn't see the full extent of McFaddens talent. He must be regretting it now as he sees a manager here who's philosophy would have suited him.
Joe Harper was a big letdown too; big fee but couldn't hack it down here. What is it with Everton and Scottish players/managers?

Bakayoko for me - he was banging in goals for Montpellier before joining us for big money (at the time) and suddenly transformed into Brett Angell. To be honest though, 75% of Walter Smith's signings turned out to be either [Poor language removed] (for us, not later in their careers, i.e. Dacourt, Materazzi) or were so old they didn't have the staying power to help push us forward more (Gough) or were just plain too old (M. Hughes, Ginola, Gazza) or just total [Poor language removed] (Nyarko)

Not bashing, just the truth as I see it; but any striker while Moyes was here was completely destroyed by him. Johnson was good, Beattie could have been so much better under a different manager. Will always be VDM for me, yes there were extenuating circumstances; but as someone said in another thread, that I really cant be bothered finding, lots of people with problems have got on with there jobs and not cocked things up so badly.

1. Chico's previews...don't know why I still expect good things.
2. Deulofeu...thought he'd do better than Drenthe.
3. Drenthe...thought he'd be a real difference maker.

First that came to mind. Andy Johnson probably shoulda been better...Bily too.

Bilic for me - a terrific player who never did it for us.

Amo as well - was a hero of mine and the SPurs game will always stand out - but overall he was bit meh truth be told.

My disappointments start a few years before most posts on here.
Milligan, Beagrie and Warzycha leap out immediately followed by Preki, Sansom, Amokachi, Barrett, Samways, Dacourt, Materazzi, Collins, Bakayoko, Gemmill, Nyarko, Madar, Gascoigne, Ginola, Hughes, Alexandersson, Blomqvist, Linderoth, Wright, Rodrigo, Van Der Meyde, Kroldrup, Beattie, Davies, Castillo, Jacobsen, Bilyaletdinov, Senderos,Gueye, Vellios, Drenthe and Hitzelsberger but by far the 2 biggest disappointments for me were Steve Simonsen (record fee for a goalie but was very poor) and Nick Barmby (another record signing who ended up betraying us!)

To be fair, Hitzlsperger was never gonna tear up the world was he? Did a job, on a free.

As for Simo, we only paid £3n cause Johnson was corrupt as, and wanted the money in Tranmeres pockets.

As for Barmby, I thought he was good for Everton, obviously he's a [Poor language removed], for leaving for the RS, but his work was actually good.
