I'd say Cottee as well. Not that his career with us was awful, but he came for a big fee (at the time) and got that hat-trick on debut. Fair to say he didn't really live up to the expectations those things created for him.

Why have such a negative thread. There's already so many of them, hardly anybody on here is positive or optimistic. A few are though.

Because of the expectation, the feeling that the signings were proof that we were back on track, I'd go for Joe Harper and John Collins. One player does not make a team as I endlessly keep forgetting. Disappointing to me reminds me mainly of a somewhat maligned full back and Walter's verdict on most things masqerading as a "performance" during his time at the club.

Biggest disappointment of someone I like because it wasn't his fault would be Vaughan. Shame

Biggest disappointment of someone I grew to hate would be Drenthe/Van Der Meyde. Pair of Billy Big Balls that decided to waste their talents while picking up a common man's yearly wage each week from our club.

Maybe not the biggest disappontment but remember Anderson de Silva?! Fought like crazy to get a work permit and loaned him for a couple of seasons all in the hope that we had this all-action Brazillian midfielder who ended up being absolute toilet and playing for Barnsley!
