This is nonsense. The "purple patch" was a four game stretch where he scored 6 because he saw the ball more. Out of his 14 starts under Moyes, it's pretty much what you'd expect: the more service he got, the better he was able to finish. You could take any striker in the league and put them in our squad and say the same thing.

Similar to what I was gonna say! If nothing else, Beto normally seems to be a nuisance to defenders. Last night there was a point where another one of our players ran to close down Leeds, and seemed to go past Beto to do so. Needs to be much more energetic!

He will, like all players, score some good goals, but not enough for a striker. In the end, he is not good enough for this level. I think we all know that. I think he knows that himself, too
It was Barry's first minutes in the Prem. So he has time to get going, to prove himself, to come good.

We also buy a lot of players in the 10-30m range where we’re often taking a bit of a punt on them being able to make it in a new league. That’s not a lot of money for a striker. Maybe instead of signing a new crap 25m striker every year we should spend a bit more.
