I normally stick up for Beto.
But that was one half arsed performance.
Even if you are not playing well just be a bloody nuisance.
Rough them up a bit.
In his defence he was isolated most of the time.
Dont think Moyes rates him so cant see him being here long.

No I get that, but you can say the same for anyone really - ‘we know he’s slow/can’t pass/can’t tackle etc so why…’ and yet nobody does really, it’s just this weird thing around Beto where he’s almost excused from being laughably 90% of the time because if you give him a great through ball he’ll sometimes score.

Take his running onto through balls and finishing and DCL's hold up put them together you might have one decent striker

No effort at all. Was like he was running on quik sand all evening . How he was so long in the pitch is beyond me.

Swap out the name Beto with DCL and that was what tonight was. It’s the strategy used by Dyche from August through sacking. Curious it didn’t work tonight.

Oddly for him he didn’t. Started sprinting to close keeper/defenders down when he saw Barry waiting to come on. I hate that. Naively assuming your manager’s view of your performance will be based on the last 14 seconds.

Leeds CLEARLY knew how to defend Beto. I don’t think they broke a sweat doing it. He was involved in 5 contested headers. That’s it.

The one play that summed his night up was when someone tried to play it to his feet and he stood and watched a defender come from behind him, run around him and intercept the pass, while not moving

Barry should start against Brighton because that performance was shocking. I would love to see his stats for that performance. Everything was so half arsed and laboured

Beto never has been and never will be a Prem level striker. He will cost us more goals than he scores, when the ball bounces back off him as we’re moving forward.

I would be totally shocked if Moyes hasn’t marked him for sale, if it can be done.

And I think that's the long term problem, if leeds defenders and coaches worked him out ,then bet your bottom dollar the rest of them have also .

Absolute waste of time last night hitting balls to him with his back to goal. Give him something to chase. He's pacy and awkward. Leeds defenders blowing cigar rings coz we had nothing but long ball header contesting sh!te.

Can those people who were criticising me for stating we desperately need another striker in the squad please stand up?

We have:
Beto - Scored a few last season, largely in one purple patch of 4-6 games, but all evidence shows he's not Premier League quality.
Chermiti - Even worse than Beto.
Barry - Nobody knows, but he's young and new to the league.

We need at a very minimum one more rounded and proven striker in the squad as a matter of urgency, not that we'll get one.
