Pace on him to get that 💩 ball from Alcaraz miles ahead of him.

Must be the quickest player in the squad over 50-60 meters.

….you mean the Alcaraz header? I thought that was a terrific, deliberate ball into Beto’s pass. Those first half misses were very poor.

Maybe you mean the last chance he missed where the CB had a yard on him but lost the foot race, that was impressive pace and determination.

“what’s the charge?”

“Mr C Alcaraz is being charged with (checks notes) being signed by Moyes”

“Is this a serious charge? Sir”

“It is in the land of social media”

He didn't lose the foot race, he got past that last defender.

It was a clumsy pass, the weight was all wrong.

What's it got to do with Moyes?

Both were impressive to be fair. As he was for his first chance too. Pinnock is big and powerful, but honestly he couldn't handle Beto yesterday.

This is mainly why you can forgive Beto for missing the chances last night. He created those himself. He ran the length of the field on all 3. This wasn't delivered to him on the 6th yard. The fact that he kept going and didn't hide speaks to his character. If he didn't go for the chances and create for himself, we'd he talking about how he didn't get reliable service in this one. If he has a guilt edge chance that was delivered to him on a silver platter, that is an entirely different story.

that stupid haircut. no one in the squad said a word?

In Alex Fergusons book he says that when Ronaldo first came he panicked a bit when one on one so Ferguson told him to lengthen his stride which I think helped him to slow his thought process down (don't ask me how 😂) but after that he became a better finisher.
Interesting.

I had a coach who would yell “show him 16” (which was a hit/stay blackjack reference). Show the keeper enough of the ball to make him think of rushing out, but not enough to make the decision easy. At least at that level they would freeze for a moment.

"The weight of the pass was all wrong".

Charly spots his run, provides the headed ball over their defenders into Beto's stride, but OK that made him miss it

The only one I can absolve Beto on is the 3rd. I don't think there is an excuse for the first two despite coming close on the 2nd. He hit it into the keeper. Beto likes to hit it by the keeper but that only works if the keeper is running at you. Notice how the keeper stops early for every one of his chances. He knows what Beto is going to try. Beto needs to recognize that people have more info on him now.

I'm in a forgiving mood based on our current form.

The boy has played so well since becoming first choice, he's allowed a bad day at the office.

He never stopped trying though, which I really liked
He has a much better shot to scoring ratio than Haarland. Not putting him in the same bracket but to score you need tactics to attempt to score. Dom fired a peach just before injury and Beto has been A1.

Oh yeah definitely cack at finishing that chance, should've done better. Nonsense that the pass wasn't good though, there's hardly a better pass you can play in that situation and he didn't even need to slow down to take the ball with him.
