2024/25 Beto

Beto - proved he can time his run and get going quickly, he was meters clear of the defenders repeatedly, so, has to learn to be a bit cuter when the keeper advances, knock it left or right and cut the keeper out of the equation. Watching him recently it seems he's been told to take his chance as quickly as he can - "just hit the target", that's all well and good when he spoons one in like against Palace (?) but the classic through ball finish needs a bit more composure.

I also still can't get over the Ndiaye cross he managed to head onto the corner flag earlier this season, was it a cup game? Was incredible funny.

One massive plus is he really demonstrated how rapid he is, especially for that last chance, could have squared for Charly but blimey he didn't half shift. Defender had a massive head start on him and he still got there first. Keeper was smart in staying on his feet and forcing Beto to make the decision, rather than diving in. He needs to improve on hitting it early or taking it around them.

Can forgive him a night with bad finishing as he was a very important in the last few weeks. We haven't been spoiled with good strikers since Lukaku unless DCL's 2 good spells under Carlo.

Like his attitude a lot though, keeps fighting for the team. Many players would have taken the red at the first chance, he continued to go on.

It also has to be said that Flekken had a really good day yesterday, all of these shots were not very wide, but the keeper did very well at the 1vs1.

He does bring comical moments to the game, quite a few, but while he’s scoring goals we can enjoy them as well, a laugh is as good as a tonic!
