That must sting a bit putting one of our players in there . He rarely looks at the bottom half of the table when it comes to his team of the week . More of a prat than his predecessor .

.... I just did the math there. 35 season of 38 games is 1330 games we had 90 odd penalties.

Salah on his own in (plenty other players have had pens).. has 50.

I can't find the stats but I wonder how many penalties we had as a club since he became penalty taker at the RS. Probably in around 10.

Jota got one with a dive so outrageous yesterday that VAR couldn’t even bring themselves to give it. No sign of a booking though.

TBF what’s happened with Beto - actually playing someone for a consistent period in their right position and in a way that maximizes their skills - is something we never really did with any of our second / backup forwards after the start of Martinez’s second season.

I dare say we could have done this with Tosun, or Kean or any of the rest and seen better results than what we did out of throwing them on for the last ten minutes of doomed games / making them impersonate DCL or Rom once every five weeks.

Very true. Huge lack of flexibility
