i also game through my computer, but honestly it just doesn't feel the same as a system. playing an n64 always makes me feel like i'm 6 years old again, nothing else can replicate that feeling.

the amiga 4000 you say? i could swear that is an A500 in your pic.

any amiga fans out there then the program 'winuae' is a must. it turns your pc in to an amiga and you can play all the games of old. if you want the graphics to be as you remember them you should put it through your tv as monitors these days are too good and make the graphics look a touch blocky. The Genesis/Megadrive was awesome until about 1993 when Sega just started putting out shovelware.

The best console of all time was the PS1, its not even close. $40 games (SNES games were approaching $80, Genesis games were $60-65), some of the best games of all time (Xenogears, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Metal Gear, Parasite Eve, Syphon Filter etc.).

I don't even own a new console. The last console I bought is the DS. Nobody wants to admit that the Wii pretty much sucks and Nintendo hasn't really tried anything new since god knows when (Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros etc). The Xbox is just a machine for 13 year olds to play FPS (which i hate) to spew racial obsenitites at each other. The PS3 is too big and expensive and doesn't have any exclusive titles anymore to make it worth paying $200 more than what an Xbox costs.

Japan doesn't know how to design a game anymore. All action games are Devil May Cry clones and DMC isn't even that good. Squarenix used to make all these different RPGs but now only make Final Fantasy sequals.

The rest of the world just buys an Unreal Engine and makes a FPS which is pretty much the same as the old FPS. Insert steroid infused marine, have him fight Arabs/aliens/Nazis/vampires in post apolytic wasteland/another planet/abondened town. God I hate them.

Super Nintendo was cool,

Megadrive was pretty awesome

and the old Commodore 64 kicked it off for me on Christmas 87.

But the best game system for mine was the Nintendo 64. Maybe it was the introduction to weed around the same time, but I remember the 64 really took gaming to a new level.

Games like Goldeneye, Donkey Kong Country, Zelda, Mario Kart, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, 1080 Snow Boarding, Ridge Racer, ISS 98, Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Star Wars Rogue Squadron.

pes 3 by a mile me or my kids have had just about every console from the origonal atari(mine obviously) to the pes3 i did love that atari!

atari , neo geo , master system , megadrive ,mega cd , sega saturn , dreamcast , nes , snes , n64 , an amiga 32 (i think it was called that- dark grey and looked similar to the playstation 1 ) playstation1 , 2 and 3, xbox , xbox360 , ive had the bloomin lot almost when it comes to games consoles.

my favourite of the lot was i think the sega saturn.
shame it died a horrible death , but resident evil on the saturn took gaming to a new level for me. i loved the light gun games on it .(what ever happening to light gun games ?)

but the snes with streetfighter and mariocart is a big fav aswell.

wow, rook.

do you feel better getting that off your chest??

Yes, used to play all the time but now maybe twice a month. Nothings original anymore (though I do have to admit XB Live is getting some decent games) the plots of my favorite genre, Japanese RPGs, are getting worse and worse and there are way too many FPS which the only one I liked was the Gamecube's Metroid.
