best Prem player ever

Reading this thread has just made me realise we have been shabitte in the PL era.

We havnt had a player, in their prime, anywhere near that list have we? Hibbo excluded, obvs.

I'd say its a toss up between Shearer and Henry, although my non 'big' club nominee, although Shearer was not at particularly big clubs, would be Juninho (that spelling looks off but cba looking it up, the Boro lid) what a time that was for them when they had him, Ravanelli and was it Emerson?

we don't glamourise defenders much but Ashley Cole was consistently world-class for both Arsenal and Chelsea. at his peak he could've easily slotted into a Real or Barca line-up.

also, Lampard has i think 4 Prem titles...if you can inspire your team to such heights it's a big plus in your best-ever shouts. Gerrard famously fell over when he had his one big chance to inspire his team to a title.

normally no Liverpool players would get near a best Prem-player debate as of course they've never won it, but Suarez (with Zola & Le Tiss) were ridiculously good so gets a go.

3 PL titles. The Chelsea team would have probably been ok with A.N.Other player though. They could steamroller sides, them next door needed SG to elevate them beyond what they were.

Anyway I feel dirty for fighting his cause, but I think you would be surprised how many will take him over Lampard (not necessarily on an Everton site though).

sad innit...Dunc, Arteta, Cahill were great and all but...well, you know.

Rom and Kanchelskis have arguably top 50 shouts.

If Xabi Alonso played his whole career in the prem he'd be on the short list. IMO he was by far the best player on Rafael's squad.
