best individual performance you've ever seen

maradonna v England mexico 86.

that glory boy goal of his when he beat literally every england player and scored.

reidy even stated that he actually went to stop him by breaking his leg and got made to look an utter doughnut in the process!

This might surprise a few but Jeffers v Sunderland (not sue of the year) when we won 5-0 just after Christmas I believe. His movement and linkup play with Campbell that day was the best front 2 performance I've seen at Everton

For something different, McFadden in his first season Vs Leeds at Goodison

Thought we had a special player on our hands that day. Think he had a stormer in the midweek before or after that as well in the league cup against a lower league side.

Being born into the unluckiest generation of evertonians, I won't be able to pick any title winning displays!

Like the op watching fell I against city, I was at the game and he was huge in every sense for us that day, he was in general a player you appreciated more when watching live for some reason, he had a few games for us like that when he an absolute totem for us. a few arteta displays, the cup the against villa sticks in my mind, completely ran the midfield, had he destroyed his knee I think that squad would have done more, and it was a decent team. a few big dunc displays, plenty of derbys, man utd games, the 1-1 when we avoided relegation, the 2nil against Newcastle, the Bolton game, can we have another big game player please!!! big nev in the cup final 95, far from his peak but there was an aura about him that day, along with Dave Watson, we had players in that team who played like they expected us to win the cup.

A few incredible kanchelskis displays, probably the best ones I've seen in terms of an individual influencing a match, and a shout to Tim cahill in the 3-1 win against a very pyhsical Portsmouth side, it was 1-1 and we needed to win to chase fourth, Cahill was a real leader that day dragging us to victory, while our cowardly captain meekly pointed at stuff and begged the ref not to book the opposition.

Tony Cottee's debut for us against Newcastle, a game where he scored after 31seconds and went on to complete a hat trick. What a great debut game and one which he claims was his best career game in the book "For the Boys in the Royal Blue Jersey".
We ended up 4 nil winners that day.

No mate, at the time he used to write a column in one of the red tops and in one of his articles, he slaughtered Everton and I was fuming.
He used to drive an Audi and I worked at the dealer where he bought the car from... a couple of days after that article, he came into the dealer to buy some parts for his car and I had the "pleasure" of having to serve him.

I got all the parts out, brought them to the counter and then, in front of other customers, I asked his name for the invoice and cracked on I had no idea who he was.
He gave it the old, "I'm Lou Macari" routine and I said, "and? Am I supposed to know who you are?"
He said, "I play for Man United, that Lou Macari".
I said, "I'm Andy, the Everton fan who's read that crap you wrote about us in that rag paper, yeah, that Andy".
Cue giggles from other customers.
He looked at me and said, "come on son, just serve me the parts."
"Not till you say you're sorry", says I... and I just stood there till he apologised.

I then made out his invoice, no discount, and held his ten pound note up to the light as though checking it wasn't a fake.

The other customers were loving it.

To be fair to the little sod, he took it well and every time he came into the dealership after that, he'd come and talk footie with me and the other guys over a cup of tea.
