best individual performance you've ever seen

...this will be unpopular but Graham Souness was a one man team against us in the League Cup Final replay at Maine Road. I wasn't too upset coming out despite the result because I knew we were about to overtake them in the pecking order but Souness was magnificent that very wet night. He even managed to beat Southall from 20 yards.

He was nasty and often arrogant on the pitch but he could play.

Agree with what you say but, this was really when we knew.

Messi in virtually every game he plays and Ronaldo in loads and loads of games.

If we're mentioning non Everton players these 2 have got to be in.

I know someone mentioned his performance against City.

Agree with all the Messi (GOAT in my opinion) and Brazilian Ronaldo shouts. Just awesome players.
One individual performance that always sticks in my mind, and my craw, is by David Platt against us in 1989.
We lost 6-2, he scored twice but looked like scoring or setting up a goal every time he touched the ball!
I hated him and his weird deep voice from that moment on.
Good player for England mind.

Dwight Gayle off the bench in Crystanbul.

Ended Liverpool's title challenge and cleansed this place of many a kopite in an instant.

"At one point, shortly after Suárez had given them a 3-0 lead, a loud cry had gone up from the Liverpool end of "We're going to win the league". Their team had looked like worthy champions and were actually in the process of trying to chase down Manchester City's superior goal difference. What happened next was almost inexplicable but there is also an inescapable truth to the night that surely confirmed Liverpool had thrown away any last chance of winning the league."

A really sensational performance.

The only reason I won't switch from Virgin to Sky under any circumstance is because I've got that game is recorded. It's football porn.

Graeme Sharp FA cup semi final versus Sheffield Wednesday at Villa Park in 1986. Wednesday had a legion of 6 foot 4 monsters in their defence, Sterland & Shirtliff amongst them. Lineker was injured and missed the game but Sharpy stepped up that day & produced a master class in centre forward play, refused to be bullied by Wednesdays defenders and scored the winner in extra time from a sublime pass from Paul Bracewell. Sharp was immense that day, sometimes I think his volley against Liverpool overshadows just what a great centre forward he actually was.
