Due to the rash of movie threads, heres my take.

TV Show or book or whatever that would make a great film.

Heres a list of the ten best screenplays never Produced,

and this would make the best film ever if they did it right.

The Silmarillion would be an amazing film(s), can't ever see it happening, way way way too big and complicated for the average movie goer
 
I dreamt up the greatest film ever in my teens. I wrote it down and everything.

A guy can control the world with a magic remote control - imagine the fun you could...

There are a shed load of 'Supermans'.
There was to be another Keaton Burton 'Batman'.
There were other stories in the 'Alien' franchise.
Alan Moore and PKD have plenty to come from their back catalogue.
I suppose this is a tough thread to comment on because no one saw underground classics like 'Delicatessen' and 'Pans' coming, nor did anyone really have chance. 'Long good friday' struggled for finance to the extent George Harrison plumbed a few quid in. More interest was given to the Stallone remake of 'Get Carter' than the original.
Films that shouldn't have been made, or rather Film stars that shouldn't be, step up the one, the only, Ben Affleck.
 
Hasn't Affleck moved into directing now? With notably better critical acclaim I believe.

Anyways, I'm still waiting for the much-touted BeetleJuice in Hawaii. I'm still waiting Tim....
