So yesterday. Would you have brought on Kenny or one of the keepers to replace the ineffective Gordon?

Well he would have stayed on the pitch and I doubt we'd have won that game

Some of our fans is shocking. Bernard has a decent cameo v the worst team In the league . And
You’re hailing him as some saviour.
who knows what wouid have happened had Gordon stayed on.
no one is mentioning Bernards 40mins v a top team like Utd 4 days before. I wonder why.
he gets paid an absolute fortune. Amd
You can’t on one hand how many games he’s influenced in 2.5 years.
It more about rotating players. 45 mill would be a decent amount.
Man U showed us what opinions from the bench can do
If our first choice line up is a front four of Richarlison James Iwobi behind DCL then Bernard is arguably first sub for both flank positions. If he was able to keep any sort of decent form he’d probably be Carlo’s first pick off the bench every time but he hasn’t which is why Gordon Sigurdsson Davies and even fullbacks have all come on in wide areas ahead of him.
In his best form and fitness I like him as he can handle the ball properly but he just can’t display that enough and anything less than that he’s just another player too slow for the premier league.
I'm not saying that Bernard is anything other than an average Premier league player. He has some merits and he has some faults and he is very inconsistent. Nowhere have I ever made him out to be a saviour FFS.presumably we would get a fee for him
and he has such little effect on the team that we could replace him with anyone, or no-one
Kenny does seem to get a few minutes at LWB at the moment lolSo yesterday. Would you have brought on Kenny or one of the keepers to replace the ineffective Gordon?
I know. Was frightened of saying anything for fear of upsetting the CPS (Carlo Protection SocietyKenny does seem to get a few minutes at LWB at the moment lol
)Lol I don’t think he likes width perhaps trying to bulk up the central positionsI know. Was frightened of saying anything for fear of upsetting the CPS (Carlo Protection Society)
And there you said it “ Clubs like Everton”I'm not saying that Bernard is anything other than an average Premier league player. He has some merits and he has some faults and he is very inconsistent. Nowhere have I ever made him out to be a saviour FFS.
But at the end of the day, a club like Everton can only ever expect to operate with a nucleus of 15/16 quality players that we will depend on for most of our games, rotating from the bench and on match days. At the moment, we are probably two quality players light up top, and in midfield Gomes' form has raised serious question marks over his inclusion on the list as has Gbamin's injury. Likewise with Coleman's injury at the back and of course the ongoing big question mark over the keeper. However I hope and expect these issues to be resolved over the next couple of transfer windows.
We couldn't hope to keep a quality inner core squad of more than that happy without regular Champions league football, plus we couldn't afford to either at the moment. If you look around there's only the very top clubs that can carry large squads
On top of that inner core we would also need another 8 or so players to make up the full squad. This will comprise some developing youngsters, perhaps one or two senior players coming to the end of their careers, and some experienced of lesser quality than our key players. Bernard falls into this latter category along with the likes of Davies, Iwobi, Siggy, Tosun, Delph, Kenny and, based on current form, Gomes.
As we bring new quality players into the elite squad, we'll need to lose some of the lower quality players, and Bernard may well be one of them. But there are at least 2 or 3 I would rather get rid of ahead of him. His contract expires in 18 months anyway and I can't see it getting renewed. All being well our injury situation will improve and we will not see much of him apart from the odd cup game or coming off the bench during busy schedules.
But in the meantime please try and be reasonable and not expect our 3rd and 4th choice cover players to come off the bench and dominate against some of the world class performers you see in the Premier League.

What a load of made up tosh. An absolutely ridiculous post lolAnd there you said it “ Clubs like Everton”
Bet you would love moyes & Kenwright back.
And I bet the money men In the boardroom are falling over themselves to Extend Bernards contract. What do you reckon an extra 2yrS? take him Up to 32. And an Extra 50k a week. That should do the job. And another 4yrs for the fans to watch him rot on the bench.
when he finally leaves, which can’t come soon enough, he will just be another waster that cost the club a Fortune. Free or not, his high wages, big signing on fee, agent fees. You’re probably taking 25/30 mil.
Agree with the wages bit. It would have been better had we given him a signing on fee and half the wages, and then you wouldn't have all the cryarses using it as a stick to beat him with.Good post that.
He has gone from being a first choice, to a sporadic pick and now he's a bench option. Thats fine. We need more players at his level who are bench level.
There is a question about his wages, and moving forward we don't wanst lads on 120k being bench warmers, though there was no fee fee involved, so it's a quid pro con.
If someone comes in for him, with a decent offer he should probably go. And I wouldn't renew his contract on existing terms. But all the time he comes off the bench he's ok. He may even play better next season as he's in his final year.

I honestly think we'll let it lapse. Same with Siggy. If we were interested in keeping them on we'd be negotiating now.Yes the tricky bit will be next year when it comes to being renewed. He'd need to drop his demands a reasonable amount.
It’s called ambition mate, you Wouldn’t know what that was if it smacked you in the face. What a load of made up tosh. An absolutely ridiculous post lol
