Ideally he'd have gotten 18 months to 2 years and completed the deconsruction of the squad and instilled a new attitude.

We can now only hope that if Lampard arrives it means a changing of the guard in terms of coaching staff being shown the door....prinicpally the Galloot, but others who work with the first team.

A massive deconstruction would of needed to happen if we stayed on the path we were on . Changing the squad would of been a lot tougher with Championship money .
However , my attitude to Dunc has changed recently. I really would like him to stay at the club as an ambassador or maybe just to coach specific strikers but I don't think he'll ever be our manager . His tactics in his last match didn't indicate that he learnt a great deal from Carlo . Maybe you were right all along. That hurt a bit lol. I still love him .

Worst manager in my lifetime. Possibly worst manager we have ever had. Even worse than Walker.

That out does any positives you want to scrape the barrel for.

He made us worse in every aspect of football. Defensively and attacking wise. He removed all our creativity and relied on Gray (a player Brands had wanted) to do something to save games.

He left us in total relegation form, in a relegation scrap with a worse squad than he had when he arrived.

Removed Brands and Donachie who both were underperforming in their respective roles.

Brought in Gray who's a baller for peanuts.

Brought in Patterson & Mykolenko who could prove good additions down the line.

People will scoff now as they did in the aftermath of Silva/Alladyce even Carlo but once the raw emotion subsides people will acknowledge some positives that have been done in the last 6 months.

Brands got Gray, as for the two FBs do not think FSW had anything to do with them.

FSW brought our club to it's knees.

While it may not have been pleasant, he had the guts to do the hard stuff and break our fetish with nostalgia.

I think that's what got him the job and he did a thankless task with a threatened squad and staff.

Maybe we, and I include myself in that, should recognise, as you did, the importance and difficulty of that task and not be blinkered by short term thinking and judgement clouded by our envy of his record at Liverpool.

I think in time many more will realise that he was a transformative manager and a crucial one.
