Should we see the positives in Benitez work at Everton?

Gave us the realisation that fat Sam wasn't our worse appointment.
Alienation of die hard fans.
He was the hero we deserved and needed.

His appointment and subsequent sacking has united the fans to the realisation that real sustainable change was needed across the club - not just in the playing squad.

I think we'll look back and be incredibly grateful and I for one, am not too proud to admit it..

There are no positives. Most didn't want him and they were proven right, He had a very short new manager bounce of about 4 games and then it was downhill all the way with the dysfunctional board and owner allowing him to stay too long and do serious damage on and off the field.

More of a stain on the club than Allardyce which is quite an achievement.

Did you read the opening post?

- i was impressed with his interviewing at first
- and his emphasis on coaching
- some players had positive things to say about how he talked to them individually and focused on individual improvements
- he seemed to 'get the club' at first, but then ...yeah...
- i thought he was a 'serious manager'
- Gray and Townsend great signings

but then
- his PR machinery
- seemed to decide in advance he will not even try to work with James and then Digne
- Didn't trust young players (e.g. simms, dobbin instead of Rondon)
- Rondon rubbish signing, Andy Lonergan what was the point of that? Was worried about Longstaff

Mykolenko & Patterson make no sense , even though they may be good signings in the long run, were they Benitez ideas?
Brands went at least in party because of him
Digne fiasco ...

Apart from all of this, we actually didn't play good football. We would have all been happy with something that looked like we were improving, even if we were still 10th - 15th position
