I know he's quick but that run at the end showed he's absolutely rapid, i've never bought in to Richarlison having a lot of pace and Reece James had him in his pocket for most the night then Godfrey goes on one run WITH the ball and leaves them for dead.

Absolutely mental our fastest player being a central defender lol

Earlier days yet, but Ben Godfrey really is looking to be a top signing for us (well done Marcel Brands). Thought he put in an excellent, high energy, confident performance against Chelsea; brilliant stuff.

Agreed. I do like having the option of pace on both sides with him and Holgate at full back against good teams. It would probably look abysmal against some teams at home when we have to attack but the flat back 4 with both full backs able to make up for any mistakes gave a solid platform .
