Disgusting by both Belarus and Poland. Freedom of movement should be a human right.
I understand that to an extent, I as a principle would agree with it in a perfect world.
However, this is the first time in my relatively short lifetime (I'm admitting I have potential blindspots here) a mass movement of people weaponized by a third party like this. I find it hard to fault Poland for this as Belarus accumulated all of these people from most likely desperate situations.
I would like to see Poland take them in and what not, but also, they aren't prepared for this. They haven't allocated funds in the middle of the first pandemic that's damaged the global economy in such a way in a 100 years. That's not even mentioning the more important problem posed by public health risks that would have to be adressed. And also cost more funds.
It's just gross, the situation as is and what I'm about to say because the idk "tactical" (or maybe that's too kind, maybe inhumane, scummy idk what word to use) part of my mind would say you want belarus to deal with this accumulation of people and potential social disruption given the dire circumstances they are being forced in... but I so desperately don't want to see that happen to people who have likely been exposed to people being used in conflicts before in such ways up close and personal.
It really is just a terrible situation excaberating already bad circumstances for these people and it's all Belarus and Russia doing terrible [Poor language removed].
