Beer, revisited

Ha ha! Yeah, I can believe that!
I like Kingfisher myself but it'd be great if they had an ale on the bar as well, does need to be kept though I suppose. I've been trying to get them to buy bottles of our IPA and a rocket fuel barley wine we do, which is superb with hot curry but they're not having it!

Have you asked them to have a look at one of those gas-kept systems? Where the beer lies under gas rather than air. I know CAMRA turn their nose up at it, but it keeps the beer fresher for far longer and I have never really noticed any difference. Not a bad option if a place struggles to shift a barrel in time.

had some of this in Brazil a week and change ago, really heavy, viscous stout. 12%, so packs a punch. if you are a beer nerd, add this to your "Buy on sight" list.

also had the chipotle version... wow. being fro the Southwest of the US, am used to chipotle and spicy in general, but it had a surprising bite. and it's not their hottest.

I work for a local brewery and pub estate (well, local to Bristol anyway!), Dawkins Ales

We do a couple of IPAs, 'Colonial' which is our classic and an American style called Resolution:

You'll be hard pressed to find our beers outside the South West to be honest, but we're working on it!

Well now I really want to try that Bristol Gold and the Blonde.

Bring it up round here. There's about 30 pubs that have 5 or 6 cask beers on within about a 5 mile radius.

damas y caballeros, who won Paraguay for the day?

i did.

on a whim to get out of the house walked to some small shop that sells some American stuff - skittles, bbq sauce, spices, steak rubs, and some beers like Yuenglings and Fat Tire.

they had four cans each of Cigar City Jai Alai IPA and Invasion Pale Ale, plus a a brown and a few cans of another Florida beer i've never had.

had to fight the urge to Gronkspike one of the cans right there in the store.

Some U.S. brewer (forgot who) made a mole beer. It's a bit spicy.
