Beckford to Leicester? Yakubu to Forest?

Victor Anichebe 118 games 12 goals - 0.1 goals a game, 1 goal every 10 games approx.

Jermaine Beckford 38 games 10 goals - 0.26 goals a game, 1 goal every 4 games approx.

Stuart Barlow 71 games 10 goals - 0.14 goals a game, 1 goal every 7 games approx.

Ibrahima Bakayoko 23 games 4 goals - 0.17 goals a game, 1 goal every 5 1/2 games approx.

Mo Johnston 34 games 10 goals - 0.29 goals a game, 1 goal every 3 1/2 games approx.

Anichebe is due to go down as our worst ever striker to play the equivalent of a full season or there abouts for Everton.

I agree that Vic is one of the most impotent forwards ever to wear the shirt. I'm just a stickler for factual accuracy when we're having a pop at someone.

Let's be fair, Anichebe is miles better than Barlow ever was. I feel he's unlucky to an extent that he's coming through at a time when we have no natural right winger at the club, so he's been picked out as the square peg in the round hole and hasn't played in his favoured role as often as other less talented Everton forwards have in the past. He's an easy target for the boo boys.

But... he doesn't help himself with his sloppy finishing, indifferent teamwork, terrible touch and, shall we say, lackadasical attitude.

I'm rooting for the lad, whilst he -or any player for that matter- is at Everton I will want him to do well. However, it is most definitely do or die time for Big Vic.

Ugh. If he goes I'll be devastated. Not Baines-leaving devastated (i.e. end of the world devastated), but still upset. And really ****ing annoyed.

10 goals ffs, what more does he have to do

Nah no deal, Becks will be good this season

10 goals in your first year in the prem is a good total and he looked a lot better in the second half of the season than he did in the first which shows he's getting better

Hoping to see him up front with Louis on Saturday in a 4-4-2 against a team who got tw@tted at home on the first day and are surely there for the taking with two strikers!?

Yak to forest yes (thats if he doesnt play like its his 1st season with us)
becks not a chance 10m would make me think but anythin under that no. i agree becks did look better the 2nd half of the season, but he still needs to sort out his timing in taking shots etc

All the general attributes required to be a good striker or a decent footballer then! I would rather have Ibrahim Bakayoko.

It's funny how things change but at the moment I'd let Yak go for 3 mil, it's been pretty apparent for some time now that he's not in Moyes' plans (which I think is a shame though). Beckford though, I'd be fuming if he went for under the 8-10 mil mentioned somewhere in this thread. Considering we'd have to replace our only pacy/non injury prone striker.
People moaning about him needing 3-5 chances to score (which I have a hard time believing is statistically correct), need to figure out who at that value has a better goal to shot-ratio? He concistently produces chances as well, which can't be said for many of our other strikers. He takes shots in mostly any positions, something we are crying out for as well..

I love you Jermaine.

You could attribute all those to Beckford as well, but Beckford still scores goals.

Do not sell beckford,i got him on my new shirt, and have a 250 quid bet with a kopite, that becks wil score more than andy carrol this season.

I'm all for constructive criticism and Anichebe still has alot to prove but those stats are all over the place, and don't tell the whole story. Half of his appearances have come from the wings, and he's only actually started forty two games for us since he came through. Lots of those supposed games are 5-10 minute sub appearances from the bench...

he is only a young lad, had a few injurys and is growing up in front of 36.000 people, theres times he gets on my nerves but he isnt half as bad as people make out, should get off his back and maybe just maybe we might have a decent player on are hands.
