Barry Vs Beto

Who would you rather start?

It's a complete and utter failure by the club to force the manager to play half a season with only two strikers in the entire squad, both of whom wouldn't start in any other side in the entire division — FACT.

DCL offers more than these. That's not suggesting he should have been kept, rather it's stating just how low the bar is at Everton in the striking department. West Ham had Callum Wilson on their bench – even he is better. The bar is average Championship standard right now at Everton up front.

Even 34-year-old Leicester forward Jordan Ayew would be an improvement, or 39-year-old Vardy who has just gone to Italy.

The bar is pathetically low. £60m on these two chumps. They will both leave for free.

Any attempt to dress the situation up as anything else is just ridiculous and quite frankly embarrassing.

Moyes must be absolutely livid that he's not allowed to speak his mind on the topic.

Somehow he needs to navigate another 15 or so games with these two turds, and good luck trying to bring in a good striker in January unless there is one with his contract expiring and we're willing to throw money at him and his club.

The message from the new owners is clear: This isn't a season for optimism, it's one more of treading water and accepting simply staying up.

If that's the case why you keep crying tears in the Moyes thread about the owners being unhappy with Moyes? You're worse than Davek, all over the show.
Moyes hasn't helped himself by continuing to play these chumps. I think we'd be dramatically better with false 9 — but he won't try it.

Two things can be correct:
  • He should be livid not getting a better striker than these in.
  • The owners should be demanding more from him with what he's been given, particularly as he hasn't bothered trying something new in terms of formation or approach.
It's baffling why he hasn't realised that we're on a hiding to nothing with either of these two in the side. The owners should also question why he hasn't attempted to fix it by playing a footballer up front instead.

It's all very simple stuff. Ndiaye as a false 9 might very well turn out to be a disaster, but it couldn't be worse than playing one of these.

This!

Beto or Barry? Neither please. I’d do a false 9 or anything else. Beto should be a 60’ or later sub. And Barry a very distant third option if we’re winning comfortably. But their play makes me comfortably numb.
