Barry Vs Beto

Who would you rather start?

It's a complete and utter failure by the club to force the manager to play half a season with only two strikers in the entire squad, both of whom wouldn't start in any other side in the entire division — FACT.

DCL offers more than these. That's not suggesting he should have been kept, rather it's stating just how low the bar is at Everton in the striking department. West Ham had Callum Wilson on their bench – even he is better. The bar is average Championship standard right now at Everton up front.

Even 34-year-old Leicester forward Jordan Ayew would be an improvement, or 39-year-old Vardy who has just gone to Italy.

The bar is pathetically low. £60m on these two chumps. They will both leave for free.

Any attempt to dress the situation up as anything else is just ridiculous and quite frankly embarrassing.

Moyes must be absolutely livid that he's not allowed to speak his mind on the topic.

Somehow he needs to navigate another 15 or so games with these two turds, and good luck trying to bring in a good striker in January unless there is one with his contract expiring and we're willing to throw money at him and his club.

The message from the new owners is clear: This isn't a season for optimism, it's one more of treading water and accepting simply staying up.

Was speaking to a Leeds fan today about DCL at my son’s footy game. DCL for all his faults is levels above what we have. Even if he can’t finish. His hold up and link play is outstanding. We genuinely have the worst strikers in the league and it’s mental that’s been allowed to happen. Because ultimately it will keep us bottom half looking over our shoulders.

Beto or Barry? Neither please. I’d do a false 9 or anything else. Beto should be a 60’ or later sub. And Barry a very distant third option if we’re winning comfortably. But their play makes me comfortably numb.
Barry shouldn't get any minutes under any circumstances. We don't need a player walking around the field not arsed in even pretending to try and earn his exorbitant salary.

Fully agree Beto should not be starting.

How its come to this I'll never know. I bet there are a number of people at Everton feeling extremely embarrassed at bringing players like Beto and Barry to the club and committing about £80m in fees and salaries to them.

The annoying thing is, if Barry was showing the character and fight that Beto does he would do fine imo.

Shows nice enough touches when he gets the ball. He just looks like he doesn't understand at all whats required in terms of running and pressing.

Attitude is everything here, no clearer example of this game. Beto actually bothering to run and we look miles better for it. You can't read into everything a player does but Barry clearly doesn't have the same mentality and doesn't seem bothered.

You'd never tell which one was the experienced PL striker and which is the young one looking for a chance to impress the manager.

Does he?! I think you're referring to one decent touch he made on his debut, which has never been repeated. He's absolutely garbage and his attitude stinks.

Beto unlucky not to score to be fair, but still an absolute donkey!

Barry? The black Sandro!
