Neither option gives me great hope to score. The best Moyes can do is his best to figure which of the two is the least worse in a given match given the opponent lineup. I don’t envy him.

On paper, Barry is better. But that’s not saying a ton. Barry has as many goals as Saka and Cunha. So some perspective is necessary.

I’d be happier with Beto sold and if we retained Barry, then he’s a third option behind two better strikers.

Again, his 6 goals is in pretty good company. Maybe it’s body language, we scrutinise him excessively because he’s a Blue. For me, he’s alright. It’s the despair that overcomes him for a miss or mistake. Or body language.

I’m sure he’s hungry to score. But look at Armstrong’s maturity and Barry’s. We say enough Championship time for Armstrong. He’s ready despite much PL experience. With Barry we say he’s still young, still adjusting, give him time, he’s got little PL experience. They can’t both be right. It’s a talent and maturity issue to me.

So, support him and hope for the best while praying for better acquisitions in the summer.

Cunha and Saka (admittedly they play in a slightly different position to Barry), but they offer infinitely more than Barry. He doesn’t create chances, isn’t great at holding up play, and is dreadful travelling with the ball.

I echo others saying there is no point voting for either as they are both abysmal.

Still stunned the club felt it sufficient to a) not add an additional option before the summer window closed, then even more outrageously b) not put it right in January.

Season killed by those two decisions.

Both awful but Beto at least runs through walls and gets goals.
I totally agree with that. Both wear their heart on their sleeves. Except Beto shows fight and never gives up and Barry shows disappointment and getting down on himself.

Yet despite it all, Barry is ahead in goals. Based on the fact that our only choices are Beto and Barry, I’d have to say Barry. He has more goals, he’s younger, and has a potential upside. Beto is older and is producing the same showing each season. We have a good sample size to suggest this is who Beto is. With Barry, this might be who he is. It might not. This is only one season. And six goals while more or less splitting time almost actually isn’t all that bad.

Small update: Looking at minutes played, Barry has almost 5 more matches. That could suggest Beto might be on par for 6 goals himself. Bottom line, neither is a prolific scorer. I stand by the age difference would make me lean towards Barry.
