People I spoke to out in Malaga all had issues with his off the ball work and his basics like his awareness of his position etc... I think a loan to a good Championship outfit for half a season would do him the world of good.

It did work very well for Osman.

However I think Osman was about 21 when he first went on loan, and it wasn't until he was about 23 that he really broke into the Everton side.

Barkley is only 18, I can't help but think that an awful lot is being expected from him, and that it may prove to be a bit too much for him.

That said, it could end up being the making of him, and I hope it is.
