Struggling to see what the club have done wrong here? Working for a college safeguarding is a MASSIVE issue with people under 18, and I am sure it will be for the club, at the college visitors need escorting EVERYWHERE and cannot be left on their own, I really don't think the club have the staff to stay with you at all times.

I can understand people being wary of someone being around youngsters in with what is happening in the media right now. Is this why the decision has been made ? Is it just a knee-jerk reaction by the club ? Surely they could have given Bally an official pass to watch the games.

it does seem there's more too it but we have little chance to get any sort of comment from Everton.
always hard when you only get 1 side of the story.

hmmm maybe they can tell mickey blue eyes the clearing house for the club.

Having a difficult day, fella

But yet he is free to watch EFC Academy/reserves in away matches.

The 'inappropriate behaviour' excuse is just a red herring by the club, to make people think he's some kind of perv and that their decision was justified and not motivated by greed, or someone's nose being put out of joint.

I wonder if this is a problem between the unofficial websites and the club rather than with Steve himself. Didn't Ghost upset Elstone a few years back with a few choice e mails?

*heads to the vaults*

if they dont want to have him doing a write up of the match, i could understand a bit, due to the club starting there own write up on there site, but to ban the fella from the games seems well overboard to me

I'm actually embarrassed reading that..
Pathetic.

Very sorry to hear how you have been treated mate, and I actually enjoyed reading your reports.

This!. Sounds real petty to me. Enjoyed the write ups, they was better and more in depth than what you got on the OS!.

That would be upto the other academy to have their own safeguarding in place

Read thru all these posts and I'm stunned that the club would pull this stunt. Living in canada any info i can get im happy to read and AB's posts on the youth team were always welcomed. I really hope some resolution can come to pass on this. Not so much for the reports but obiously its a passion for Steve.

Safeguarding is important but this seems to be an over-reaction. The example of inappropriate contact quoted to AB is anything but !

Maybe there are some over-sensitive parents involved, but that is pure speculation on my part. The Club have handled this in a ham-fisted way and treated a good supporter abysmally.

To the posters on the Peoples Forum message board - no, Bally is not 'a stalker' or 'a right weirdo'. You're all quick enough to slate the people who run the club most of the time.... now comes an incident where you would be fully justified in doing so, you focus on slating the fan. Uncalled for.

That's just par for the course for that forum. Not worth bringing attention to the bells.

This sort of gets to the heart of it in a roundabout way. If safeguarding is the case, then the short ban they had in place in 2011 would presumably not have been lifted. What he's done (and I'd bet big money this is the case) is continued to post reports on here about the youngsters' development and they now have made a more draconian crackdown on alternative sources of news based on commercial considerations.

At the very, very least here the communications team have used loose language to frame this matter and they haven't give one shiny shite that they are blackening the name and reputation of a husband and father and dedicated supporter of 50 + years standing.

It's so wrong it isn't even worth debating.

It just proves how a closed shop under the chairman & the board & the freedom DM has nothing surprises me - the organisation is run from the top & this attitude spreads downwards no agm's etc it really does need a clean new brush to finance our great club!
If BK is offering DM an extra 10k per week as reported how do we finance that deal????

To not let someone into FF as the first post indicates what is there to hide????
