BANNED FROM FINCH FARM

A year or two back I wrote an email about how poor merch was in overseas countries, and I got an email back saying they wanted to talk to me directly. Unfortunately I was offshore at the time so requested email correspondence, which I was really excited about getting some feedback and hopefully seeing my club marketed in my country.

Turns out they just wanted to tell me I was wrong and how they are doing everything right. I deleted the email but posted it on here so should be in my post history somewhere, the club is a joke and I gave up right there.

You've got to realize it's some bloke that has NO idea what he is doing making these decisions, trying to keep a job looking after a club he doesn't care about and in all likelihood, it's the best job they have ever had so they'd happily throw a million supporters under a bus if it meant they keep their jobs.

Whats the old saying "people rise to their level of incompetence" sums up Everton management perfectly.

AB i'm with you.

This is an attack on GOT pure and simple. Much like in the same way that the club doesn't allow the site to most match updates for televised games and doesn't allow the club's badge to be featured anywhere on the page. It's pathetic and does out club, no favours. They need to sort their heads out and realise that they could turn a lot of people away from supporting the club financially and in person if things like this keep happening.

And Bally, saddened to hear this pal, loved your reports and getting info on the players.

From a safeguarding perspective it makes no sense. As mentioned he could get the CRB checks etc. And as far as passing info on to other people from other clubs, a lot of info about the players can be garnered from other sources. Like when those clubs play the team. It's not like he's leaking information that other clubs couldn't pick up.

If the players don't want to be spoken to on twitter, don't have twitter!!! If this was any other youth team at any other level and someone was there watching the game then it wouldn't be a problem. And he only writes the match reports because of the nature of the team... And as for the club banning him from the facility; the facility isn't even theirs technically.

All other clubs televise youth and reserve games and it is ridiculous that ours chooses not too.

Absolute joke. Will be withdrawing my financial support from the club and will encourage my dad (who spends thousands every year on merchandise, tickets, hospitality, shirt sponsorship and worldwide fan groups) to do something similar.

Everton can p*ss off.

typical of our board I was banned myself with very circumstantial evidence. Me and Bally are NOT perverts!

jokes aside disgraceful from our club as usual

Very dissappointing news Steve.

I met you at Finch Farm a few months back after we both regulary attended the U18 matches and your love for Everton was clear to see as was your interest in Everton at all levels.

However, I don't believe the actions of the club can be seen as a swipe at GOT or yourself. I would find it hard to believe that the club would take issue with your match reports, with Grand Old Team in general or with your exemplary conduct as an Evertonian.

Sadly, it would appear that despite most of the U18 team having personal Twitter accounts, the club would prefer that fans, as individuals, refrain from becoming personally involved in club matters at youth level. I've taken a keen interest in youth football for the last few years and i've noticed that clubs are becoming increasingly aware of Twitter and Facebook and the exposure that U18 players now have to the public and are beginning to clamp down.

I can't really see a sollution in sight, I suppose the only way forward is an overwhelming response from Evertonians to Robert Elstone in order for him to perhaps try and convince whoever at the Academy made the decision to refuse you access.

Here's hoping!

I cannot for the life of me see why this decision has been taken. CRB checks aside all that was needed was a gentle bit of communication and maybe a few guidelines about what the club wanted / didn't want. An outright ban is way over the top. Am happy to support any petition/protest on this one.

Just read this and I am astounded at how the club has treated you! Absolutely shocking. I would be devastated if that had happened to me. Its clear to all that you are dedicated to Everton as they come. No way to treat a supporter such as you.

I'm glad this is now public. I can't add much to what's been said other than all the best, Steve and I hope the club come to their senses sooner rather than later as the whole thing is ridiculous in my eyes. The fact that he's the biggest blue you could meet adds insult to injury. Very sad to see the club being run by people who seemingly don't care.

How hard would it be to sort out some sort of media accreditation pass for Steve, covering U-18 games only? I'm really struggling as to what legitimate reason they might have.

The only nefarious reasons I can think of are an innate desire to control the views of the media - look at the childish bans imposed on the Echo (and how the Echo have disgracefully bowed down)?

Football in the EPL has now become big business - driven by the brand value attributable to the TV deal, mainly the (increasing) overseas TV deal. Clubs now do employ senior executives who are on salaries that a prem player would've aspired to a few years ago.

Unfortunately we're still run like a corner shop, with our very own Arkwright in charge. People's Club my arse.

It knocks me sick that the club I love and follow treats dedicated fans like this. I hope justice prevails.

Come back today and I'm still as angry if not more so. We trade on our homespun pauper's image - we may not have miilions but we're a club of the people - well bollocks to that. It couldn't be further from the truth.
I thought, as part of our pathetic level of ambition, we were just embarrassingly disorganised, mismanaged and incompetent at every level - I'd not only come to except it, I'd even come to accept it. We've seen it over the years in every single department - the endless transfer wranglings, the box office blunders, the ever-depleted official shop stocks, the moronic staff, the dilapidated ground, the worthless PR & advertising, the terrible website. I expect that of Everton. I expect them to take our hard-earned cash and piss it up the wall year in, year out - perhaps a new outhouse for one of Phillip Green's holiday homes or a new run of Joseph on the West End.

What I do not expect is callous, calculated, nasty, shameful treatment directed with intent and purpose at one of our own. What I do not expect is a lifelong blue who has given more of his own money to this club at every level and in every way than Bill himself, who truly has nothing but the clubs best interests in his heart, and has done absolutely nothing to deserve treatment even a fraction this terrible, to be treated so terribly.

I'm loath to join the anti-Kenwright masses. I love my club. But I can only think of one response worthy of this shambolic series of events...

EVERTON - HANG YOUR HEADS IN F**KING SHAME

Its a shambles from top to bottom...

On twitter iv been banned by Everton an that idiot who took over from Ian Ross.

An also that thick c**t Greg okeef from the echo. All because im not scared to speak my mind an ask the right questions.....

Hopefully this just might be the spark needed that turn the common fan against them. Somebody get onto talk sport. Raise awareness.
