Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

From what I've just seen that was an appalling decision. I believe we scored straight after so probably didn't affect the result but shouldn't take away the fact that was a shocking decision.

Premier League say Mateus Fernandes “accidentally” handled the ball​

The official Premier League account issued a statement on X (previously known as Twitter) shortly after the incident which read: “The referee’s call of no penalty was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Fernandes accidentally handled the ball while grappling with an opponent.”

I think those clips prove once again that our games have been officiated in a fair and balanced manner, and that our fan base is nothing more than a bunch of overly entitled moaners.

Had he (linesman) given it, as he should have, there was no way it was being overturned.

Just don't know how anything can be said with certainly about var decisions.

They're both clear handballs, but let's not make out there's a conspiracy against us it's just a rank bad decision today.

Its unprofessional of him to not know who was on VAR. They're as good as opposition players these officials so im not sure how they haven't done their homework on who is officiating.

If he had, he would have been able to confirm he was the same VAR official who didnt give a penalty for Barry against Arsenal which was confirmed as a mistake after the event

You can see on camera that he spots the ball and attempts to punch it out of play which he succeeded in doing. It wasn't an incidental touch. He jerked his hand towards the ball suddenly. It was intentional.

I would also like some clarification as to what level of contact is allowed on a GK at a corner. Not that I think Pickford was fouled for the goal, but some refs blow up at the first touch while others seem to allow a total block.

Another one of those vibes-based rules that refs can be look to when they feel like it.

There's no way 95% of handball pens are not accidental. Most I see are accidental in that they are ball to hand.
That today was hand to ball for starters so can't even be considered accidental imo

Var did check it - They said it was inadvertently done in the natural motion of grappling with an opponent.

Never ever heard that one before.
