I know it should have been a pen nailed on ....He punched it out for a goal kick Joey,we didn't even get a corner.
Was the VAR check only for the foul? What did the scoreboard say? The fact they got a goal kick suggests even watching the slo motion clips they were too thick to spot the massively obvious way the bouncing ball got fingered out of play.Having seen the incident, I just can't see how anybody can say that's not a pen. The West Ham player clearly punches the ball with his fist. You could make a case for a pen for a foul on Barry
Insult upon insult. He’s not giving a pen, because he was in the process of fouling the player. Ridiculous. I hope Everton publicly ask for the VAR commentary the way Forest did when they were not given a pen at our place last season.
Yes it was more out of hope than expectation. We don’t stick up for ourselves I think because we seem to want to be part of the establishment when we simply aren’t.I'd be very surprised if we did, why rock the boat when they can do it against us next week, think back to our points deduction, we thanked them for it.
Theres no excuse with VARSo the West Ham player hits the ball out of play with his hand (not a pen), and we still don’t even get the corner!
I honestly don’t know what I’m watching anymore.
I watch lower league football aswell, and although the refs are awful, you just take bad decisions on the chin and move on. With var, this is just a load of sh*te!
And that's a huge part of the problem, this authoritarian punishment for questioning them. I can understand refs needing protection when they only had their split second decisions questioned but with the technology this is just effing ridiculous.I'd be very surprised if we did, why rock the boat when they can do it against us next week, think back to our points deduction, we thanked them for it.
I hate their explanation of it being an accident. Like, yes 95% of handballs that are given as penalties are not accidental, that isn't an adequaate explanation whatsoever. And with the grappling take, don't wrap your arms around a striker in the penalty area? Like Jake O'Brien's against Arsenal, he goes up for a header, and in doing so, uses his arms for levearge and to grapple with an opponent, and accidentally it hits his hand.So you are now allowed to handball if you are also committing another offence by grappling at the same time ??
