Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

Really surprised the Keane Red has split opinion. Lots saying today pulling is instantly violent conduct and red. Factually wrong, that’s only the case if not challenging for the ball.

Since they were challenging, it just falls under the normal decision of was it or wasn’t it a foul. Personally I would say no, as you can put both arms round a player and wrestle them as long as you let go at the right time (bizarre). But wouldn’t have been bothered if he’d given a free kick at all. As long as applied consistently, great, give them a free kick and tell Keane to keep his hands down. No issue.

Don’t think the argument is whether he deliberately or accidentally had hold of his hair for 0.8 seconds. The issue is the ref has been TOLD to apply the instant “hair pulling is violent conduct” rule incorrectly by the puddings 200 miles away. He visibly completely bottled looking at the incident and pushing back on their incorrect suggestion.

The Hwang thing just makes the entire sport a farce when you have those 2 incidents within a matter of minutes and consider the 2 different outcomes from VAR/ref. It’s become pointless watching unless you have the money to just blow teams out of sight, then these “mistakes” don’t matter to you.
Right, its truly outing some people on here who are somehow falling over themselves to defend the corrupt PL. Look, I dont mind arguing most decisions, but its LITERALLY the law of the game. It cannot be violent conduct, its not even in the refs discretion to call it, and for Cavanagh to call that down is criminal. The ref will be demoted, and the appeal will be won, and not because they want to, but because they have to because they wrote the rule.

Ive been involved in Football in 3 countries. My son plays professionaNever seen such a disgraceful decision. With VAR you can engineer decisions depending on the agenda.

True but when i was younger i hated playing with geezers having fanny haircuts swinging everywhere im totally on Keane’s side. In fact stupid haircuts should be banned…
Can he play right back mate?

Not saying that grealish shouldn't have had a second yellow for the clapping (by the rules), but.... I very seldom watch the RS play, but whenever I've had to, I'm pretty sure I've seen vvd do it every time. Do we know how many times he's been booked for it?
I actually don’t think it’s such a big deal. It’s better than when players would get in their face and scream at them. Players have emotions and referees should be allowing for that.

Completely different set of rules for van dyke. Ive been banging that drum for a few years. He thinks he's the ref. Its so standard now its like its just been accepted that as liverpool captain its allowed.

If for the most part pulling a jersey isn't considered violent, then pulling hair hanging on the jersey isn't either.

The NFL allows long hair but it's considered part of the uni. Wear it long at your own risk.

If Moyes and the club won’t complain, surely the Fan Advisory Board or the 1878s could launch a campaign.

It’s getting ridiculous now.
Should get that mobile hoarding they had outside the PL offices doing circuits at Stockley Park with a video of all the inconsistencies and that Steptoe and Son music going.
That would be funnny.

I’d 100% chip in for that.
