We should have swerved him several days ago. I genuinely don't get the clamour for him, he's overrated. If you're nearly 28 and have played in Belgium, Portugal and Russia you're not top class!

Thinks it time to give him and his agent an ultimatum with regard to a timescale. Agree to the move by say wed or the deals off and we move on elsewhere.

His Father is his agent, then he's appointed a number of intermediaries to represent his interests in different countries. So effectively you have a group of people authorised to act on his behalf whose interests are diametrically opposed. For example Marseglia his Italian intermediary does not want him to come to the UK as he receives no benefit from that arrangement. Hence Witsel's name appearing in every publication in Italy, linked with every club and ludicrous stories such as his wife demanding he plays in Italy.

Witsel is in danger of over-egging his pudding - does he want to have a successful career in the most visible, competitive and popular league in the world or be commoditised and sold to the highest bidder/favourite contact of an Italian intermediary?

We'll know sooner than later.

The fact that this massively overrated player, who hasn`t got a minute of top league experience under his belt in his late 20s, is allowed to make Everton wait like this is provoking me no end. Please Moshiri, tell him and his dad that that the opportunity has gone and there´ll be no deal.

Fun thing is, with our offer off the table, it will allow other clubs to significantly lower the wages they´ll offer him. He´ll come crying back to us.
