Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

One of the greatest difficulties is the way Witsel has structured his management/agent team. His Father is his agent, then he's appointed a number of intermediaries to represent his interests in different countries. So effectively you have a group of people authorised to act on his behalf whose interests are diametrically opposed. For example Marseglia his Italian agent does not want him to come to the UK as he receives no benefit from that arrangement. Hence Witsel's name appearing in every publication in Italy, linked with every club and ludicrous stories such as his wife demanding he plays in Italy.

Witsel is in danger of over-egging his pudding - does he want to have a successful career in the most visible, competitive and popular league in the world or be commoditised and sold to the highest bidder/favourite contact of an Italian intermediary?

We'll know sooner than later.

Who does the player want to come to ? I feel we need to know because if he's not got us as his preference, then we need to move on to someone who does. Last question, haha, is there any chance any of our targets will sign over the weekend or is it likely next week. Cheers in advance Esk.

That certainly puts some evidence as to reasons behind the recent stories. It certainly seemed to be the Italian press with he's signing anywhere in Italy. You where confident it was rubbish. As you say things can change but appreciate all the stuff you put out mate.
Read in good faith, like the manner in which it is delivered.

When something drags on for this long you kinda get the impression his heart is in for playing for the club which puts me off him. I'm not naive enough to think all moves are money orientated but if someone is going to use our great club, I want commitment from the off. There are many others out there who'll gladly step into his shoes.

The guy is obviously the worst kind of modern footballer. We should swerve and move on!

Even if he does sign, what do you reckon will happen the first time he´s linked with a higher profile club, like say a Man Utd? Him and his "team" (he seems to think he´s Michael Jackson) will be agitating for a move immediately.

@The Esk

Do we have additional like for like targets lined up behind Witsel in case it doesn´t come through? Like Schneiderlin or Strootman who were mentioned weeks ago?

Mate , if you accept the management structure Esk described above, and I would trust that his info on that is good, then can you imagine what is going through the player's head? It's quite possible he has little or no say in which team he ends up with, as his father and a multitude of agents with ulterior motives will be 'advising' him on what he should do. It's plausible that when he signs up for a team he will be committed, whoever they are. I'm sure Koeman will want to meet him before deciding if he has the right character as well as the skillset - there's nothing I've read to suggest Ron has even had the cchnce to do this yet. Don't judge the player by the most likely quite different attitudes and motivations of those representing him.

Just a different perspective, and all speculation on my part. He could equally turn out to be a bad smeg head that we should avoid!

Agree on this, wife and his dad as back seat drivers, forget it. If he comes before the season season even ends he will be getting linked with other clubs and there will be articles in the foreign media linking him with a move, saying he isnt happy in the UK, which the fans will take word for word and get on his back.

We need to forget this one, he isn't that imporant.

This is utterly shameless.

Nice work.
