Away Ticketing

the only reason i buy a season ticket is for the away tickets, the people who want the sheet to come back only want it to abuse the system, will the same people be moaning on twitter when swansea and wba go to general sale or do they just want to go utd and the rs.

In my job i work most weekends, so for me midweek aways are the only aways i get to, thanks to Brennan last year i went to an away game, i also got a ticket for United because of someone buying it on there customer number and selling it.

So id never get the chance to build up my own customer number so im happy someone is building theres but helping me as well.

One change I'd like to make (as an o/s supporter) is after the Season Ticket allocation is done, Foreverton members should get priority over General Public

Yeah totally agree with that. As someone who lives away from Liverpool I had a ForEverton membership a couple of seasons ago, and the only real benefit I got from it was that I was able to get a decent seat for the Liverpool home game. Admittedly there were some 'money off' coupons included for the £20 cost, but if they were to offer some perks for away ticket priority then they would be even better. I'm not saying that ForEverton members should get priority for EVERY away game, as then EVERYONE would buy one and we'd be back to square one, but maybe say for every ForEverton membership you get 2 or 3 matches a season where you can guarantee yourself a ticket.

(or you could do what I done at the end of last season, and put the effort in to start your own affiliated Supporters Club and get away priority that way :) )

Hang on, what actually IS the problem with buying a ticket to an away game, then selling it on? I'm amazed people are moaning about this.

What's it got to do with anyone else? It's no-one else's business but the seller and the buyer.

The only ones moaning are the ones who can't get a ticket. They can't get a ticket because they haven't been to enough games. Some aways sell out within a few days, but a lot throughout the season don't and there's more than enough opportunity to get at least 6 aways on your STH card if you so wish.

There is always a thread on this very forum for every away, people requesting tickets to buy and decent people on here selling tickets to them. Not touts. Not for inflated prices.

The club themselves officially advocate the use of StubHub, which is actually far worse than 'face value transactions' that many people engage in, as on StubHub people do use that to sell tickets at a huge profit. For example certain Goodison derby match tickets are going for several hundred quid.

I agree actually, so long as the tickets getting sold for it's original value

The club still gets the money and no illegal profit is being made

It's not like touts who sell the tickets on for more than their original value

I agree with you as well but we used to do something similar when the aways didn't sell out as quick. The past 2 seasons there hasn't been much chance of them going past season ticket holders so I think they decided to put the remainder on general sale. Only West Ham has gone past season ticket holders this season and even then they sold out straight away on general sale. But it would be fairer if ForEverton members had the chance first if they ever do go past season ticket holders.

I think the current system is excellent and the selling of tickets on line is both convenient and fair. Each ticket is allocated a credit to a customer number and priority given accordingly. I have bought tickets well in advance for away games and due to a change in personal circumstances I have had to sell the ticket on. On occasions (when I couldn't go) I have also lost train fares, so being able to sell my ticket to a fellow blue who had no chance of a ticket has been some crumb of comfort. I agree the credit tier system for selling should be singular but it may cause the box office some grief as the selling period would have to be extended.

I bought two away tickets for myself and my partner separately online (only way to do it avoiding a card fee) I then phoned up immediately after asking if there's any chance they could be allocated together and they said there's no guarantee. I don't see the issue myself! I put the order through seconds between each order so there's no reason why he can't log on to our accounts and put a note on that they're allocated together. I've linked her account with mine using the friends and family tab and I asked him why I can't just order 2 tickets in my name. He replied "it doesn't work like that" "but she has her own customer number and meets the criteria!" I said.

It's simple things like this that could be ironed out to make the service run quicker. It's not like I'm trying to buy two tickets for myself. There's two drop down boxes, one were I select my account and underneath I select hers, it then gives me error message "1 ticket only blah blah" why can't their system recognise that it's 2 different customer numbers that both have the relevant aways?

Like I say, it's simple things like this.

Worst case scenario I'll have to ask someone at the match if they don't mind swapping or something.

I do struggle to get away tickets, one because ive not found someone i can rely to get me tickets, and also I'm not a season ticket holder anymore so its a bit harder for me. I have my dads mates customer number but even he struggles to get tickets so he's currently stuck on +2 and majority of away games sell out by then.

There has been some ruptures amongst Twitter regarding Everton's away ticketing structure with the vast majority asking for it to be put back to the old way of ticket stubs attached to a sheet. My personal opinion is that it works well the way it is now. Season ticket holders with 6+ aways to start with is fair in my opinion. The old method was probably useful before we had Internet and phone options and a person who gets his tickets bought for him a number of times could have a sheet full while a season ticket holder has none.

Keep it the way it is I say.

Another thing I want to bring up is people who have season tickets, buy away tickets and sell them just to build up their numbers so they can go to Utd away or anfield etc. It's not illegal, I just think it's immoral as these same people won't be at WBA away on a Monday night in January and neither will half the people who have got United tickets, not been to a game all season. I have nothing against people who pick their games but for me personally, there's no extra incentive to see United away than WBA away, for me it's about watching Everton play football.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

it's just the same as having stubs on sheets this client ref thing, i started in 02 so have has the stub sheet and this client ref its the fact you could borrow stubs to your mates so they could be able to get tickets thats why some ppl want it moved back to the old way, this has been in place for almost 7 years now anyway

Yes the system is fair but to do it 6,5.4.3,2.1 they'd have to go from 6 on a Monday to 5 Tuesday 4 Wednesday 3 Thursday Etc.

There's a bit of uproar with tickets at the moment but there's no other way to do it. A lot of our fans who go the aways aren't season ticket holders, most season ticket holders seem happy enough with the home games and don't bother with aways.

I beg to differ with this i know loads of st holders that go both just like myself.

I can tell you the problem now, more and more supporters clubs are starting up and ordering over 100 tickets per game, some ppl who aren't even st holder let alone been to an away game before are getting tickets over some fans who can't afford to get the ticket on the monday but maybe the thursday... I know one supporters club who got 140 tickets for Aston Villa

It should be point out that I managed to get 4 away credits last season when I didn't even have a ST, so it can be done

I got Swansea, QPR, Norwich, Sunderland and Chelsea last season and could have had Spurs and Arsenal but couldn't get the time off work

We've just had a lot of extra interest this year due to the new manager
