Away Ticketing

All the clubs have electronic turnstiles, so why not make it where it gets activated on your season ticket card & you use that to get in ? It would cut out some of it (not all) as folks would be reluctant to keep handing out their card, or even better a thumbprint scanner at all grounds, everyone takes their thumb with them.

A bit too 1984 for me.

But yeeah, having it linked to season tickets is a good idea if you want to stop people selling on their tickets.

But as someone else said, if you buy something, you have every right to sell it yourself.

As far as I'm aware it only drops 2 credits when they know that if all all fans in that criteria applied they could guarantee them all a ticket. If not it only goes down one credit at a time. We are pretty fair when it comes to away criteria, in the main this who go most get tickets

bit disappointed by allocation sizes to be honest, should be getting 3k at least per ground, usually getting about 2,5k...

The thing I'm in a catch 22 about is the people buying the tickets to then sell them on as not being a season ticket holder myself it's usually the only way I can get a tickets, and I appreciate Brennan and a couple of others on here who have helped me out in the past... However it does make it harder for those trying to get onto the away credits ladder as they may get tickets the same way but never be credited with it. As I initially stated, tricky position for me to defend either actions due to my sitch, but so long as I can get to see Everton play as and when I'm free that's all that matters to me!

Hang on, what actually IS the problem with buying a ticket to an away game, then selling it on? I'm amazed people are moaning about this.

What's it got to do with anyone else? It's no-one else's business but the seller and the buyer.

The only ones moaning are the ones who can't get a ticket. They can't get a ticket because they haven't been to enough games. Some aways sell out within a few days, but a lot throughout the season don't and there's more than enough opportunity to get at least 6 aways on your STH card if you so wish.

There is always a thread on this very forum for every away, people requesting tickets to buy and decent people on here selling tickets to them. Not touts. Not for inflated prices.

The club themselves officially advocate the use of StubHub, which is actually far worse than 'face value transactions' that many people engage in, as on StubHub people do use that to sell tickets at a huge profit. For example certain Goodison derby match tickets are going for several hundred quid.

do not start on stubhub. It is a great initiative, just people see tickets up at inflated prices for the derby and uproar ensues.

To post a ticket on stubhub I believe I am correct in saying that you must be a season ticket holder. So for starters that person has injected say 500 pounds into the club and is likely to be a decent fan. Furthermore the ONLY game that I have seen massively inflated prices for is the derby. For EVERY other game (maybe barring the united) tickets are listed below face value. Stubhub is not a touting system, would a tout really pay 500 quid for a season ticket banking on the derby ticket to sell for 100 then sell every other game for about 20 quid? Nah, doubt it, he'd more than likely make a loss... The initiative is a great way for people to buy a season ticket holders seat (i.e unlikely to be a restricted view) for lower than the price of a ticket through the club, the fact that for one game the prices are inflated is solely due to supply and demand. Also it is the season ticket holder's right about what price to put it up for, if it doesn't sell he'll either go to the game or lower the price if he has sense and not just leave it unsold. Simples.

You are completely wrong on this mate, of course touts don't make money on it through Everton, you don't even see touts at our games. The only reason stubhub works for Everton fans is that we don't have massive demand so lads just generally offer a cheap ticket on it when there on holiday or somewere. Tottenham and Chelsea fans hate stubhub because the only way you can buy tickets down there now is to pay over the odds on stub hub for them.

Stubhub is in its very essence a touting system, Iv just paid £50 each for 3 tickets for Jake Bugg at £17.50 face. I'm not against touting as, if your willing to pay, you can get a ticket for anything if your willing to pay. But your blinkered if you think stubhub was made for the people

How does the supporters club scheme work? I'm assuming they take the majority of tickets for each away.

I don't know how many supporters clubs we have but they could be getting up to 50 tickets each possibly? That's a high number of tickets.

Season ticket holders are entitled to 'one' but so often an individual has about 9 for sale. I apologise for not understanding how all this works. So in a way, season ticket holders are not at an advantage

I'm literally only referring to it for everton's purpose... Having just checked it seems only everton, sunderland and spurs use it anyway? With regards to spurs the only game i can see on there is the united game which doesnt give me a true reflection of how the tickets do actually sell. The fact that you can only place season tickets up there means that it isn't like normal touting where by you can invest a little and make a lot, or invest a little and make a small loss as you do for concert tickets which are a totally different entity based on the fact it is legal to resell most gig tickets. From our point of view it is a great initiative, granted if we are doing well and demand for tickets increases my view may change but at the minute fair play to the lads that pay 500 up front at the start of the season to have the luxury of going to any game they want.

Great name Warwick, used to call that Nicky Hunt of B/W Warwick a few years back can remember the kids asking their ma's who Warwick was.
