I think a bit of perspective is required here. And I'm not being positive for the sake of being in any way argumentative to those who say that the performance was dire, and recent ones have been also. I agree.

However, let's look at the season so far.
Stoke: A tough shower to play against, and first game of the season they were up for a battle, no doubt there.
Then we were handed the toughest start of a season I have ever seen
Man City - top four and flying out of the traps this season with a team full of top class players;
Chelsea - Champions, and again, full of class players;
Spurs (yes, at home), again, a team full of quality players who arguably could have won the title in either of the previous two seasons;
Atalanta away (why couldn't we have got the soft team at home first...?). Deflection into the path of their player half a yard from goal; world class strike for their second - very difficult to recover from that.
Man Utd away - looking VERY dangerous this season. I see nothing coming from this one.

Four of last season's top six in the first five games, three of them away!!! That is enough to sap the confidence of any team outside of last season's top six!

After Sunday, we have Bournemouth (home), Burnley (home), Brighton (away), Arsenal (home), Leicester (away) & Watford (home).

I would suggest we start ringing the alarm bells if we are still playing dire, and in a dire situation following the Watford game.

If the RS would have been given that kind of tough start in the Prem, they would have been squealing like stuck pigs up to present and beyond...

Admire your positivity mate, but its the complete lack of fight that is the most worrying / unforgiving aspect for me.

I agree, but sometimes, the one begets the other.

That's why i intimated that if things have not improved by the time of/after the Watford game, then it's time to ring the alarm bells.

Great players??? in 94?? now ??

Yes.

Parkinson, Limpar, Ferguson...

Every player looked 75% better under Royle.

Our players are coasting. They looked like they wanted to lose.

That is totally unacceptable.
Football costs a fortune to follow.
I am furious with the garbage being served up. When Everton are on the tv and I end up watching Fireman Sam At my son's request instead, something has gone severely wrong.

We have been rubbish since March and have 1 quality victory under Koeman in a year.

Yep,i had us to lose 3/4 games off 1st 5 with tough start we had,everyone though we hate it can take defeat in the end if we have showed a fighting spirit,its been defeated without showing any fight or passion or anything,and acting as though we are for last 5mins of the game at most when already well beaten,thats when the problem starts for me

No mate. I'm as positive as anyone but that performance tonight was dire, it was abysmal, it was horrendous and it will give me nightmares. Something ain't right. Exactly when did we forget how to defend, or even how to attack.......
