..I agree. I don't mind most of the players that have been bought but I'm still wondering what team model he has in mind. I hope it's work in progress but we could do with at least looking like we won't lose a football match.

My broken record is that I just want to see my team create and be a threat. I just don't see that and it's dreadful to watch. I went to Benfica when we got stuffed but still had a great trip, but the folk who went today deserved better than that.

I went to Benfica.

It wasn't a great trip (for me), which is why ive done a runner and backed out of going to Lyon. Not wasting Holiday days just to see another Benfica.

We had something like Coleman at LB, who was inexperienced at the time, Gosling, Distin and Hibbert in defence that night or something?

Genuinely embarrassed at the moment and feel so much for those Blues who went to tonight's game only to be shafted, not by losing, but by not even being arsed about it.

difference: martinez football was fast and exciting. (until he lost the dressing room) His defence was crap though

martinez team stood off and let the other team have the ball. It what drove goodison mental eventually. That and side ways passing. Fast and exciting is not the words you could use for martinez football.

Football is littered with teams who played/achieved far more as a collective rather than a reflection of their individual abilites.

Unfortunately it is also littered with teams achieving/performing well below what their individual ability would suggest they can do.

In both circumstances, there is a common denominator.

..it was, Matey. Di Maria run us ragged but I went with my lad and we had a great day in Lisbon on the ale. It was more of a day out at that time but I think the expectation is greater now.
