Personally, I don't believe we have the tools (or the craftsman in charge to use them) to get a favourable result against Aston Villa. I'm actually not sure who we have to choose from, but I would go with something like this below. If Patterson is not fit, trying Aznou at right-back would be interesting.

They'll be up against a strong whiff of it at 16.30 on Sunday.

They have a tough week coming up with a reduced squad with injuries and sales. Fenerbache away next Thursday and then Newcastle away on the Sunday at 2pm.

They have a tendency to ease up on the hour mark if a goal or two up. Problem here is there will be little on the bench to change much given who is missing.

Is Alcaraz still out for this as I reckon he could make an impact off the bench if he was around.

I am still strongly feeling a bumming, obviously with us on the receiving end. There is zero percent change we score anything more than a fluke goal or late consolation when Villa are already comfortably ahead. The quality simply isn't there in the squad, caused by Moyes and those behind the scenes massively mis-spending over £100 million in the summer, and our best players not being available.

For Villa, Onana and Kamara will be out, Malen is being/has been sold, and Martinez is apparently touch and go regarding his availability. Still, they will have better defenders on the bench than we have in the starting XI, and I doubt we'll be able to keep the likes of Rogers and McGinn quiet, not even mentioning Watkins. Plus Tielemans likes a goal against Everton. No doubt if Digne plays he'll have a field day against whoever our right back is.

We have had some heavy defeats at villa over the years, i am really dreading this game, if we were full strength it would be tough so with this squad it looks very tough, hope its not a cricket score.
