I'm trying to get into the mental exercise of controlling my exasperation after learning that some of these so called patriots were willing to begin an insurrection for a president that they didn't bother to vote for.Let me do a quick little mental exercise:
To me patriotism is honoring democracy and enfranchising our citizens no matter who is elected, and being steadfastly against any anti-American, anti-Democratic domestic insurrection that threatens our nation's basic values. Something like that.
To the average Republican patriotism is supporting or believing that Anderson Cooper and select politicians eat babies and therefore armed citizens should be allowed to storm the Capitol Building, kill a police officer, and threaten to kill high-ranking members of the government.
It's a pretty blurry line with lots of overlap between these two views so I can understand why Trump-supporting GOT members are not speaking up on this thread.

How a person with such a record can be a senator? something is really wrong with our electoral system, and our culture, when people continue voting into office a man as corrupted as Scott.Senator Rick Scott, after viewing today's presentation has called the trial "a complete waste of time".
This is the same man who while being deposed by the Feds when his company was being sued for what was then the largest case of Medicare/Medicaid fraud in the history of the country managed to plead the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination a whopping SEVENTY-FIVE (75) times. The company (HCA) eventually pled guilty to at least 14 felonies and paid in excess of $2 billion in settlements/fines. Rick Scott was forced out as CEO prior to the deposition and walked away with golden parachute of nearly $10 million in cash and 10 million shares of HCA stock. He did not personally suffer any consequence for the actions of his company under his direction/leadership.
Today's actions in the Senate are a waste of time?
Rick Scott is and forever will remain a POS.

Many of these Republicans view this trial as a waste of time because they are refusing to accept the evidence and the constitutionality of the case.
