There will be words but in reality they were transitioning from one location to another and during these periods, or the end of deployments, digs can be scarce.

While the whole situation is not ideal, my point is the reality of the situation isn't too uncommon nor is it severe in the grand scheme of what they could face.

Countless soldiers have lived in pretty cramp and awful conditions for periods over in NI (XMG, Bessbrook et al.), Kosovo and pretty much any deployment.

Fly back from the Falklands? You're one of the lucky ones if you get to sleep under a vehicle for the fifteen hour flight as at least you can stretch out.

The sqaddies will have been annoyed, more so as they're not regulars, and in reality they shouldn't be in that situation, but it's not a major issue except for PR.

Imagine the Queens trooping of the colour in London, then they all doss down in the parks or Guards parade. Was it really beyond the wit of man to provide temporary shelter and toilet facilities. Perhaps they should have gotten themselves arrested and spent a few nights getting fed and looked after......anyway it’s over now......

But that's not the story is it, though? They had digs inside the Capitol, albeit not great, and were temporarily moved out for operational reasons.

They've since been put back in. It's also a surge of over 25,000 troops alongside countless other law enforcement agents from a federal and local level.

There were cops from NY, LA, PA and many more places, so I suspect accommodation would be short when you consider the numbers and limited preparation.

Even when KGVI died, there were ten thousand troops on parade alongside a few thousand more for other reasons, yet they had over double that number.

Meanwhile the former president who falsely claimed he won reelection for two months, tried to overturn the results by pressuring state officeholders of his own party to find votes and when that didn’t work incited a mob to storm the Capitol that wanted to hang his loyal Vice President is merely a pillock that should be acquitted for the good of the nation.

We girls just need to hush up and learn our place.
