I believe in law and order. I don’t care what side of a political spectrum or cause a person comes from. Anyone committing violence or involved in destruction of property or theft should feel the full force of the law. There are however instances around the world where people guilty of heinous crimes have been allowed free or free from prosecution for the benefit of healing. That is but one element. Another is that the so called ‘sensible politicians’ do absolutely nothing further to aggravate the situation, be the bigger man, or in this case woman........
You obviously don't because you want to ignore the people who did a coup

Well, let’s see if I’m right or wrong...as always time will tell........
Right about what?

That the democrats should just shrug their shoulders about the involvement of their Republican colleagues about inciting the attack with bald faced lies? And that they should not even follow up those that potentially abetted them by tweeting out Pelosi’s location during the attack or possibly gave them a walk through of the building?

How about the party of “personal responsibility“ take some responsibility for once?

Mccarthy is even walking back his very tepid admission that the attack had some link with Trump’s actions

That is rather different from drumming out Pelosi though isn’t it?
A few words from Pelosi and you’re fuming but actual political violence is “just letting off steam.”
Let’s hope the boys don’t let off any more steam or your longed for reconciliation may be harmed.

People guilty of heinous crimes being free of prosecution "for the benefit of healing" has been tried previously in the United States. It didn't work and was a catastrophic political failure we continue to deal with to this very day.

Trump has gone, the authorities will deal with any lawbreakers. Biden can raise any issue he wishes from a position of great power. It does not require Pelosi to keep harping away. But hey, you guys obviously love her, but as someone with no axe to grind one way or the other but wants to see a United populace, I’d get shut of her.......
You may have forgotten that her office was sacked and robbed so she has the right to raise any issues specially given that some of the members that provided information to the rioters form part of the House of Representatives and she is the Speaker and main leader there not Biden.

You are just using your own words and none of mine. I have made my position on lawbreaking and violence very clear.

There is no doubt that politicians wound up these people, but like it or not, one of those politicians was Pelosi. You, like others in here, are treating this as Democrat v Republican, and thats natural I suppose.

Not being an American, but loving the country nonetheless, I’ve only held two Presidents in any great regard; as a kid the most impressive politician of the age was a Democrat with the initials JFK, I thought he was a great man, and was shocked beyond belief when he was killed. The other was a Republican who was impeached, by the name of Nixon, a man who I saw as strong and with a great intellect. I would perhaps give an honourable mention to Bush Snr.

So with no political axe to grind I can call it exactly how I see it....

Indeed. But she has suffered no more than countless shopkeepers in Portland and other places. You are of course right that she is the Speaker, but she should speak for the House and not along some narrow party political or personal line. I know what I’m saying appears to be defending lawbreakers, but it’s not. If I were a politician over there it’s the future I would be concerned with...and some need to bite their tongues...think Biden has got it, but we’ll see.....

You only called for Pelosi to be got shut of, none of the other politicians you refer to. Hardly “no axe to grind.”The rest of your post does nothing but attempt to paint you in a non partisan light. Weighing against your many other posts in this forum I can’t say you’ve entirely succeeded.

Yet that was exactly what America wished for in the NI peace process and GFA. Even though it stuck in the throats of a great many people, it was done and appears to have worked.....
