I agree; why do the public thing at all. We are in a pandemic; just do a small little ceremony in the capital building where you say a few oaths and some needless obligatory prayer, burn a Jared Kushner doll in effigy, tar-and-feather Don Jr., and put Don Sr. in a barrel, nail it shut and drop it in the Potomac.

Then get to work on those executive orders that let the brown kids out of cages ASAP.

the "funny" thing is I don't even know why they are even bothering with "executive orders". They technically have the Senate, just legislate and make it almost impossible to reverse these thigns ffs...

Think they are trying to make a point - return to normalcy and precedent, openness/transparency, etc.

Not sure it is worth the risk...

I highly doubt that. Most of the bridges into DC are shut down to prevent people from getting into the city, The Mall is completely closed off, Airbnb completely blocked people from reserving places to stay, and most if not all hotels aren’t accepting reservations either. Sounds like it’s going to be nearly impossible to get anywhere near the ceremony. My friend in the National Guard said the guys he knew that got sent up there would normally have had to share rooms, but everybody got their own this time because the hotels are completely empty.
