Tbf, I'm actually still baffled at the notion that before yesterday Capitol Hill didn't have permanent metal detectors already. Even some high schools have them. Good for Madam Speaker (that's what we call her @peteblue) for enforcing the rules. The tantrum by Republicans about this policy is pathetic. They only pretend to be the party of law when it is convenient to them.

I gotta say, every time I see the phrase "Proud Boys" I want to automatically yell out, "Cherios, Rice Chex, Lucky Charms, Snowflakes, Idiot Pops"

Some of the Republican's calls for "unity" are basically threats. They are of the flavor, "We need to come together and heal, because if we don't things will explode" or "everyone needs to calm down, otherwise there will be lots of angry people out there..."

Even their calls for unity are dogwhistles to their base. "eff these traitorous clowns!
