In the past we've had very decent defenders for very little money Weir, Stubbs etc.
So it makes it look like spending 12 million on a 32 year old who isn't setting the world alight look like a poor signing.

We can get much better than this cart horse, come on lad. We don't need "world class" defenders, we need good defenders and Williams is not that
Sadly he looks a liability whenever he has the ball, and other clubs have cottoned on.
Had high hopes when we signed him , not anywhere near what i was expecting, saying that nothing around him to play with, jags is gone , few kids and Mori who isn't much better needs sorting out at the end of the season.

We bought him when he was in decline not in his prime, £12m was £12m too much. He reached his peak at the euro's, rapid downwards slide after that.
