In the past we've had very decent defenders for very little money Weir, Stubbs etc.

So it makes it look like spending 12 million on a 32 year old who isn't setting the world alight look like a poor signing.

Had high hopes when we signed him , not anywhere near what i was expecting, saying that nothing around him to play with, jags is gone , few kids and Mori who isn't much better needs sorting out at the end of the season.

We bought him when he was in decline not in his prime, £12m was £12m too much. He reached his peak at the euro's, rapid downwards slide after that.

He has been pretty disappointing, arsenal celebration aside.

Our defence is a mixture of old players in decline and young players who aren't yet ready to be starting in high stake matches. Oh and a dodgy Argentinian.
