For years I have been saying to those around me and posting on here after we play Swansea that we should buy him.

I was made up when we did buy him and just loved seeing him open his account the other night

He's been good, reminds me of Dustbin a bit. Sure makes a mistake every now and then (what defender doesn't?). However our defensive record has been solid with him in the side despite being paired with Jags who is in the middle of the worst season of his career and Mori, a mental case who you never know will do something bats--- crazy.

Ashley is a great player, but unfortunately when the team are on a downer it affects even the best. He thought he was moving up in the world then suddenly we started looking like Swansea of the last few years! It's got to demotivate a tad. He will be one of our stand out players for the next 3 years unless we stagnate that is, then he will just collect his pension money...
