Ashley Williams

Came into the second-worst defence in the league and people expected him to sort it out?

Williams is a very good defender. The issue is he has limitations (pace, passing been the main two).

He desperately needs a partner with these qualities to compliment him.

Jags is shot and Funes is well, ****. Holgate just seems to lack that physical presence/positioning needed for a centre half at this moment, though I don't see the harm in him coming in at this stage!

Although he's not a bad player, there is a reason he was at Swansea so long, he was never going to help take us to the next level i'm afraid. Competent defender who will show up when the chips are down but not top level by any means. I do feel slightly sorry for him, he must have wondered what the hell he has walked into.

He's been one of our better players this season you meffs. Taking your frustrations out on absolutely anything at the moment.
Point taken, but hardly a ringing endorsement considering the general consensus is the rest of his team mates are playing terrible.

I'd rather see him dropped and Jags come back in tomorrow. At least Jags seems to care about the game, Williams is a non-entity at the minute.
Although having said all that I believe Everton's issues are coming from the centre of midfield. We need mobility in there and we just don't have it.

He looked bemused on Saturday. He was shocking for their first goal and It looked like it had got inside his head.
Maybe its time to try the three at the back again, we aint going to win much until we stop leaking terrible goals

Absolute fraud this fella, no wonder he was so cheap. Cant remember him winning any headers this season, which is a bit mad and hes constantly out of position/flat footed. Cant exactly bring Jags back in though cause hes exactly the same, so what can you do really when your manager doesnt wanna give Holgate a go?

Might be an international captain is a safer bet and better player than a 19 year old who's played all of about 45 minutes at CB and never at this level?
