I don't really rate him, tbh. We'll see but I wouldn't be shocked if he's mostly on the bench this year. He'll probably be our third best defender behind Kone and Jags.

Fair enough about not rating him, at 1 point I didnt myself, I think I laughed when the vermin got linked to him, but of course The Euros made me see him a different light and his stats seem impressive.

He hasnt signed to sit on our bench, he will be first choice IMO.

Exactly what we need. We've been soft and easy to play against for two years. He'll contest every time the referee blows his whistle against us and throw himself in front of every shot at our goal.

People talk about his price tag. The way I look at it, the only reason we're getting him so CHEAP is his age. If he were 22 instead of 32 he'd be around the £30m+ mark too.

Three year contract. Three years of having a solid defender and leader who's come up the hard way in his career. What price to you put on the influence he'll have on the likes of Holgate and Galloway? Great buy for £9m.
