No apparently it’s the criteria for a standing ovation at Goodison. Can you pass it sideways under absolutely no pressure? Yes? Then here comes the reverence.

And be sure to run around a lot and make loads of interceptions, even if the majority of the interceptions come from winning back your own lost possession.

Interesting. Rooney gave an interview to the club not long before Dunc’s testimonial obviously to repair bridges with the fanbase and he returned. Really could see Everton moving for Arteta after Silva possibly with Cahill as his assistant. Just think of the experience he is getting working with the world’s best manager and how highly Pep must rate him.

Said it before, but he was one of the best midfielders in the league in that 07-09 period.

The season he got injured (was at the game v Newcastle when it happened) he was unbelievable. Pretty sure he'd just received his first Spain call up at the time as well. Gutted.

He's waiting for the faux Catalan Independence martyr to shift aside.

Put a transfer request in at the very moment Kenwright wanted it in. Played Bill's game.

Having read about the scenario surrounding Gary Speed, I can draw very similar parallels between doing what Blue Bill wanted and what HK wanted.

So with that in mind, what’s your opinion of Gary Speed, Dave?

Class player.

We wanted to sell, Arsenal wanted to buy, he wanted to go. We definitely had his best years. I assumed the transfer request was just a way of upping the fee (effectively, else we'd likely have had to pay a couple of mil loyalty bonus) to get the deal through. If anything I respect a player more for putting a request in rather than angling for their move and getting their bonus too.

Made me pretty nostalgic about Everton team of my childhood that has

Will always remember Arteta, Cahill, Baines, Felli, Pienaar etc

There's no comparison with Gary Speed, a player treated appallingly by Everton and many Evertonians.
